Slitherine Software, the publisher of both games, has announced thatWarhammer 40K: ArmageddonandSanctus Reach, including all DLC,will be delisted from Steam and the company’s own website on May 19. Anybody who has already purchased the games through these methods will retain access, and both games will remain available for purchase from GOG.com. There was no reason given for the decision to remove the games from Steam, though it’s speculated that expired licensing agreements with Games Workshop are the culprit. It’s worth noting thatArmageddonis also currently 90% off on Steam.
Warhammer 40K: Armageddon and Sanctus Reach Are Being Delisted from Steam
2014’sWarhmamer 40K: Armageddonwas developed by Flashback Games and The Lordz Games Studio. Theturn-basedWarhammerstrategy gamefocuses on the Second War for Armageddon and features single player, as well as co-op and PVP multiplayer game modes. It received average review scores in the 7/10 range.
Sanctus Reach,developed by Straylight Entertainment, was released in 2017 and is based onThe Red Waaagh!andHour of the WolfWarhammer 40Kcampaign books. Also turn-based, the game centers on the conflict between Orks and Space Marines, and it features a play-by-mail multiplayer mode.Sanctus Reachgenerally received a middling reception on launch.
While some fans have expressed disappointment thatArmageddonandSanctus Reachare being delisted, many already have their attention elsewhere. There have been a number of bigWarhammer 40Kleaks recently, including leaked images with aDawn of Warlogo on it. Additionally, a recent leak aboutSpace Marine 2shed light on the game’s Horde Mode, as well as its summoning mechanics and points-based reward system. But, according to developer Saber Interactive, there is more coming toSpace Marine 2that even dataminers haven’t found out about.
