A brand-new teaser visual, the two main cast members and an October release date were all revealed on the official website and social media accounts of the upcoming hip-hop dance anime,Wandance, on Thursday. The upcoming anime adaptation of Coffee’sWandancemanga was first announced in August 2024, and theDisney+platform has already revealed its exclusive streaming of the series when it eventually airs.
Wandance,produced by staff at the legendary studio Madhouseand Cyclone Graphics, is set to broadcast in October, forming part of the Fall 2025 anime season. Voice actors Koki Uchiyama and Hina Yomiya will play the starring roles of Kaboku Kotani and Hikari Wanda respectively.

Wandanceis a manga by Coffee that follows Kaboku Kotani, a first-year high school student with a stutter who just wants to live a quiet, understated high school life, since his speech impediment already alienates him from others. When he sees Hikari Wanda, a fellow first year at the same school,dancing her heart out like no one is watching, Kaboku wonders if he could one day be as free as she seemed that day, and decides to join the dance club.
Wandancehas been running in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine since January 2019, spanning 13 volumes that have reportedly reached a mark of 900 000 copies in circulation. The English version ofWandanceis licensed for release by Kodansha USA.
As mentioned previously, the upcomingWandanceanime is being produced by Madhouse; the studio behind titles likeFrieren: Beyond Journey’s End,Death NoteandBakuman, in collaboration with Cyclone Graphics. Michiya Kato serves as director, and K-Pop choreographer RIEHATA isservingas dance producer. No further staff information is available as yet. Koki Uchiyama, best known for playing Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia, is cast in the role of Kaboku Kotani, alongside Hina Yomiya, who played Anna Yamada inThe Dangers of My Heart(and, strangely enough, Anna Yamada inTwi-Yaba).
