The Midnight Walkis a short, first-person indie horror game with creepy pathways, a matchstick, and just enough breathing room between each scare. The collectibles in Chapter 1 aren’t too complicated to find, but with monsters lurking around and the constant pressure of getting caught, it’s easy to miss one and end up replaying the whole thing. Here’s how players can find all the collectibles as they navigate through the first chapter ofThe Midnight Walk.
All Chapter 1 Collectibles in The Midnight Walk
Shellphone #1
After acquiring the matchstick and lighting the campfire, head left down the path, and you will find another matchbox. To continue the story, you must grab a matchstick and light the candle along the way. After lighting the second candle, ignore the path on the right and go straight across the wooden ramp to find the firstcollectible of this haunting chapter.
Clay Figurine #1 (The Ragdoll)
From the previous collectible location, head back to the matchbox and grab a matchstick. This time, take the path on the right and light the candle there to open the cave entrance. Continue forward, and right after a brief jumpscare, you’ll find the first Clay Figurine on the right side of the main path.
Clay Figurine #2 (The Daughter)
Head straight and crouch to avoid the enemy patrolling the area. Circle around using the left path and make your way to the cave. Follow the main path, and shortly after closing your eyes to reveal the way forward, you’ll come across another matchbox. Pick up a matchstick and light the candle on your left—right next to it, you’ll find the second Clay Figurine.
Clay Figurine #3 (The Soothsayers)
After collecting the second Clay Figurine, stay on the same path and continue straight. You’ll drop down into an area where there’s a matchbox and another Clay Figurine on the right.
Story Page #1 (Who Took The Sun Away?)
Turn around from the previous collectible and stick to the left side. You’ll come across a fallen tree trunk, and next to it is the story page.
Gramophone Disc #1 (The Soulfisher’s Secret)
From the previous collectible location, head straight toward the matchbox in the distance, grab a matchstick, and light the top of Potboy. It will then run off, and you’ll need to chase it around the corner. After it hides for the second time and heads up the hill, look to your left to find the Gramophone Disc.
Shellphone #2
Afterfeeding Potboy coal twice, follow it along the main path. Eventually, you’ll be able to order it to go through a small passage and drop a plank for you to cross. Shortly after crossing, look to your right to find the second Shellphone.
Gramophone Disc #2 (Mitt Happyplace Nar Varlden Star I Brand)
Cross the wooden bridge, and the second Gramophone Disc will be on your right.
Clay Figurine #4 (Body)
For this collectible, continue forward by having Potboy stand on one pad while you stand on the other to open the door. Instruct Potboy to light the left candle, then look at the eye on the right and close your eyes to reveal a hidden monster. Hide in the wardrobe until it leaves. Once it’s gone, light the nearby candle and head to the door upstairs. Light the final two candles, and before moving forward, turn right to find the last Clay Figurine of this chapter.
Shellphone #3
Head through the gate and light the two candles in front of you. Then, look up and close your eyes to clear the obstacle and send Potboy through the pipe so it lands on the other side and lights the third candle, opening the gate. Continue forward, and on the left, you’ll find the third Shellphone.
Gramophone Disc #3 (Koket)
Continue toward the cupboard and head left. Instruct Potboy to light the candle on the left, which will attract the monster. This will give you the chance to grab the Gramophone Disc on the right.
