Chapter 2 forDOOM The Dark Agestakes the Doom Slayer to an area called Hesbeth, which is currently being besieged by demons. This area introduces the concept of melee parrying as well asnew progression mechanics and collectiblestied to them.
While Chapter 1 only had four types of collectibles, Chapter 2 and on have many more, including Gold, Demonic Essences, and other new collectibles. This guide explains how to get to every secret area and where you canfind every collectible to 100%Hesbeth and complete Chapter 2 ofDOOM The Dark Ages.
Where To Find All Gold Locations In Chapter 2
Gold Chest #1 & Various Gold Piles x15
The first Gold Crate in the level is served to players in the main path. After youcomplete the melee Parry tutorial, you will enter a building. Progress through until you reach a central hub room with several doors. Here, you will seea Gold Cheston the extended walkway in the middle of the room. Use your melee attack to open this and get a cool50 Gold.
You will also finda pile of 12 Goldon the ground floor in this central room, to the right of the ramp that leads up to the sealed red door. Turn right to findthree Goldpickups in the corner.
You must find all 75 Gold in this area to progress and turn the sealed red door into a Blue Key door.
Small Gold Piles x5 (Secret Area 3)
Progress through the level until you get the Stone Imp popup tutorial. Go through the green door, deal with the Stone Imps, then through the broken wall opposite the red locked door. Follow the until you see a breakable wall on your left, marked with a blue circle symbol. Shield Charge through the wall to find the second secret area and five piles of 1x Gold.
Large Gold Piles x2 & The Blue Key
After collecting the previous Gold Piles, turn around, follow the hallway, and climb up the wall. Sprint and jump across the gap, then go through the narrow corridor surrounded by short-circuiting computers. Drop down at the end of this electricity-filled area to find a group of cultists, the Blue Key, and two Gold pickups worth a total of 16 Gold. Pick up the Blue Key while you’re here.
Small Gold Piles x5 (Secret Area 4)
After you pick up the Plasma Accelerator, deal with the enemies that spawn, then look for a breakable wall to the left of the gigantic holographic head. Shield Charge through this wall to findfive Gold pickupsand a bit of ammo.
Gold Chest #2
To find the second Gold Chest, continue to the right past the giant holographic head after you get the Plasma Accelerator, then climb into the vents as normal.Reflect back one of the Hell Attacksin the narrow corridor. This will destroy the wall it was fired from, revealing aGold Chest worth 8 Gold.
Large Gold Piles x2
After you clear your way back to the start of the level after a mini-boss fight against a Mancubus, you will drop down past a Point of No Return marker into a group of shielded enemies. A sealed door down a short ramp to the left should now be unlocked. Enter this area and kill the cultists to find two Gold Pile pickups worth atotal of 16 Gold.
Small Gold Piles x5 (Secret Area 5)
Above the formerly sealed door where you found the two Gold Piles and some cultists, you should see a climbable wall surface. From the ledge opposite, sprint and jump over the gap and climb the wall to findfive more Goldpickups.
Large Gold Pile x1 (Secret Area 6)
After the final Point of No Return that leads outside, you will encounter a lot of Demons on the level exterior. Progress through this area and kill every Demon until they are all cleared out to make it easier to navigate.
In the lower level, look for a doorway in the side of the ruined building – it should be gently highlighted by blue lights around the entrance. Enter here to find the sixth secret area and alarge Gold pickup worth 8 Gold.
Small Gold Piles x5
After you reach the exterior area at the end of Chapter 2,DOOM The Dark Agesplayers will see a doorway sealed behind flaming exhaust vents and a large building splitting the path in two. Jump on top of this building from the previous area to findfive small Gold pickups.
Small Gold Piles x9 (Secret Area 7)
There are nine small Gold piles hidden behind a door that is blocked by flaming exhaust vents in the final, exterior part of the level.To turn off the flames,DOOM The Dark Agesplayers must jump onto the building that splits the path in two, then look for a superheated lock on the wall opposite the fire door.
Throw your Saw Shield into the lock to break it, then jump inside the building to find some Armor pickups as well as a valve. Interact with the valve to turn off the flames and enter the secret area. You will findnine Gold pickupson the ground that lead to the final Life Sigil of the level.
Gold Chest #3 (Secret Area 8)
After you drop down the Point of No Return after the exterior portion of the level, continue through the halls until you unlock the Shield Saw Jump ability. Leap towards the Sentinel Shrine, then turn right and look for a hidden path below the Gold Chest you can see on a ledge above. Follow this path to reach the Gold Chest worth50 Gold.
Small Gold Piles x8 (Secret Area 9)
In the room with the Shield Saw Jump tutorial, climb up the wall next to the Sentinel Shrine, then turn left and look for a pile of crates next to a climbable surface on the ceiling. Climb the crates, and climb the wall, to reach a corridor withthree Gold pickups. Drop down the shaft at the end of the hall to find Secret Area 9 andfive more Gold drops.
Where To Find Every Demonic Essence In Chapter 2
Maximum Health Demonic Essence
At the very end of Chapter 2, the Doom Slayer will have to fight a horde of demons to summon a Demonic Leader. InDOOM The Dark Ages, Demonic Leaders always reward Demonic Essence, whichincreases your basic stats like Armor and Health.
In Chapter 2, the mini-boss is something called a Pinky Rider – an Imp on top of a beastial version of the classic Pinky enemy. Defeat the horde of demons and kill this boss to get a Demonic Essence that will grant +10 to your Maximum Health.
Where To Find Every Life Sigil In Chapter 2
Life Sigil #1 (Secret Area 1)
To get the first Life Sigil in Chapter 2,DOOM The Dark Agesplayers must beat the Shield Saw tutorial, then enter the building previously locked with a seal. Immediately to your left, Shield Charge into the breakable door, kill the cultists, then go right up the stairs to find a Life Sigil.
Life Sigil #2 (Secret Area 4)
This Life Sigil can be found in the third Secret Area alongside some Gold pickups. After youpick up the Plasma Accelerator, look for a breakable wall to the left of the gigantic holographic head. Shield Charge through this wall, then follow the corridor upwards to find the second Life Sigil.
Life Sigil #3 (Secret Area 7)
The final Life Sigil in Chapter 2 can be found at the end of the level. You will encounter a door blocked by three flames here on the exterior of the level. To open it, jump onto the building to the left of the door by leaping from the ledge above, then turn around and break open the superheated lock on the building opposite. Jump in and turn off the valve, then continue past the now-deactivated fire vents to find the third Life Sigil.
Where To Find Every Codex Entry In Chapter 2
Codex Entry #1: Hebeth (Secret Area 2)
To get the first codex entry, continue through the level until you have to open a large door on the exterior of the building. Walk across the walkway, through the other door, jump down to the lower area, then kill the demons in the area.
Continue into the next room and you will see a superheated locked door on your right.Opposite this, you will see some crates. Jump over the crates to find a group of stranded soldiers and the Hebeth codex entry.
Where To Find Every Collectible Toy In Chapter 2
Secret Toy #1: Imp Stalker
To get the Secret Toy in Chapter 2,DOOM The Dark Agesplayers must complete the Shield Saw tutorial at the beginning then beat all demonic enemies inside the building. Continue into the next room, defeat enemies in here, then continue up the stairs to the second level.
At the top of the stairs, turn around, and you will see two climbable ledges on the other side of the walkway. Climb up, then drop down into the maintenance corridor to find the Imp Stalker secret toy.
Where To Find Every Skin In Chapter 2
Nightmare Shredder Skin
In the room with the Shield Saw Jump tutorial, climb up to the highest level, then climb onto some crates so you can jump onto a climbable wall in the ceiling. Pick up the three Gold here, then drop down to find another five gold. Follow the hallway and turn left at the end tofind the Nightmare Shredder Skin.
