Days Gone Remasteredhas an array of skills for players to unlock as they progress through the game. In total, there are 45 skills to acquire, and they’re spread across three categories: Melee Skills, Ranged Skills, and Survival Skills. Players will earn XP by killing Freakers and completing missions, which will allow them to level up and spend Skill Points.
This guide lists every skill available inDays Gone Remasteredand explains how to use them. Before purchasing a skill, players should ponder what they’d like to improve or what could help them the most at a certain point in the game.
Melee Skills in Days Gone
Players who want to excel at hand-to-hand combat should invest their Skill Points in the Melee Skills category. With Melee Skills, players can improve melee weapon damage, their ability to successfully dodge and evade, and even keep their favorite weapons around for longer by unlocking a skill to repair them.

Hard Hitter
Increases the damage of both crafted and found melee weapons (excludes Boot Knife)
Regenerates stamina for every melee kill
Ability to perform longer combos with melee weapons
Ability to roll quickly to recover from a knockdown

Bull Rush
Ability to stun a normal human enemy or Swarmer with a melee attack while sprinting
This may knock back the enemy and stun them
The Reckoning
Gives melee weapons a chance for a critical takedown on humans, Swarmers, and Newts (excludes Boot Knife)
Drastically reduces stamina cost from rolling
IV
Rock On
Ability to stun weaker enemies by hitting them with a rock
Home Run
Significantly increases the damage of both crafted and found melee weapons (excludes Boot Knife)
V
Retribution
Increases the chance of a critical hit or takedown by 25 percent (requires The Reckoning ability)
Boot Knife combos do twice the normal damage
Executioner
Ability to stealth attack heavy Freakers. Also adds the ability to kill heavy Freakers and large animals while escaping a Grapple
Ranged Skills in Days Gone
If players prefer to fight with a gun, then the Ranged Skills section is where they’d want to spend their Skill Points. Here, they can improve their Focus, steady their shots by decreasing recoil and increasing accuracy, and increase how much ammo they can carry.
Ability to activate Focus while aiming a ranged weapon
Slows down time, making it easier to hit shots - similarly toDead Eye inRed Dead Redemption 2.

Vicious Cycle
Ability to follow a melee attack with a ranged attack for massive damage
Suppressing Fire
When in Focus, ranged weapons will have an increased power to stop weaker enemies
Increases chance to stun enemies with ranged weapons
Reduces the cooldown of Focus
Improves the initial recovery and duration of a Focus Cocktail
Ability to reload ranged weapons while sprinting
Significantly reduces ranged weapon recoil
Significantly increases crossbow bolt damage
No longer consume Focus when reloading a ranged weapon
Players can now reload with Focus activated without consuming it
Reduces the reload times for ranged weapons
Increases ranged weapon accuracy
Increases ammo capacity for all ranged weapons
Two Birds, One Bullet
Increases projectile penetration for ranged weapons
Bullets can now go through enemies and hurt others behind them - great for defeating hordes and taking down swarms hidden in their nests
Head Rush
Headshot kills recover health
Players recover health if they take down an enemy with a headshot
Survival Skills in Days Gone
It can be easy to overlook the Survival Skills category inDays Gone, but that’s a mistake. If players want to gather all of the collectibles inDays Goneand secure a platinum, acquiring skills such as Hawkeyed is crucial. Additionally, it’s in this section that gamers can unlock the ability to recover bolts from the Crossbow - one of themost useful ranged weapons inDays Gone.
Gamers who prefer to focus on stealth and item gathering should definitely invest in the Survival Skills section.

Gather twice as many plants - great forgetting more Credits at camps inDays Goneand crafting crossbow bolts and cocktails
Increases the amount of meat gathered from animals
Another great way to get more Credits
Reduces cooldown on stamina recovery
Ear to the Ground
Doubles the effectiveness of scrap while repairing the bike
Waste less Scrap when repairing Deacon’s bike
Second Wind
Gives an extra burst of adrenaline when low on health
Allows you to take a few more hits even when health is beyond a critical point
Increases inventory space for crafting components, traps, and throwables
Improves the initial recovery and duration of a Health Cocktail
Significantly increases stamina regeneration rates
Regain some stamina when taking damage
At the end ofDays Gone, players may have additional Skill Points. If they pre-ordered the game, then they will receive some skills early, and therefore won’t have to unlock them at all during their playthrough, which is why they may have Skill Points to spare once theyfinishDays Gone.
