EveryApex Legendsseason brings something new to the battle royale title, be it a map or a Legend with unique skills. With Season 25 less than a month away, fans can look forward toApex Legendsreleasing a new character named Sparrow.
Before Sparrow was officially announced, a prominentApex Legendsleaker posted the new character’s reveal trailer early. In spite of this, many fans were still excited about getting a new character, especially since the last Legend, Alter, was released back in May 2024. Sparrow also seems like an interesting addition to the roster because of his role as the “Agile Archer.”
What is Known About Apex Legends' New Character Sparrow
Enea Davide Guarino, aka Sparrow, is aRecon Legend inApex Legends, which is a classification for characters with abilities to scout and gather enemy intel on the battlefield. According to his lore, he was born and raised in a respected bounty hunter clan known as the Clessidra Rossa, who are known for their unparalleled archery skills. Growing up, Sparrow became a talented archer and was supposed to take over the clan when he was ready. However, he refused, which caused a rift between him and his family.
Sparrow’s decision to step away from his bounty hunter clan led to him joining the Apex Games. Apart from being able to show off his archery skills and having fun, he wants to gain back the respect of his family by showing them that he can live and fight according to the beat of his own drum.
Sparrow’s Kit in Apex Legends
Sparrow’s kit involves using his arrow to survey his surroundings and also deal damage to enemies. His Tactical Ability, Tracker Dart, allows him to shoot a tracker that reveals enemies who walk in its line of sight, as well as activate Survey Beacons from a distance. Meanwhile, his Ultimate is called Stinger Bolt, where he shoots a large arrow that anchors where it lands, and allows him to charge it up to shock and slow down opponents within its range. Sparrow’s abilities bear similarities withValorant’s Sova, who also uses a bow and arrow for his skills.
As for Sparrow’s Passive Ability, he is able to Double Jump midair and while climbing on walls, which could help players pull off cool kills on the battlefield. Plus, if he obtains a Bocek, he can carry additional arrows and explosive arrows.
Apex Legends is Improving the Bocek
TheBocek bow is a polarizing weapon for manyApex Legendsplayers, with many skipping over it because they believe it’s not as powerful as other weapons. On the other end of the spectrum, many people actually like the strength of the Bocek’s attacks, especially if they lock in and shoot an enemy from afar.
Along with Sparrow’s release,Apex LegendsSeason 25 is also making big changes to the Bocekto complement the Recon Legend’s abilities. According toApex Legends' site, the Bocek can now be infused with Frag Grenades, which will explode into a radius around them after a short fuse. Apart from dealing damage and flushing out camping enemies, the explosive arrow can also destroy doors.
Likewise, each Bocek Compound Bow comes with its own quiver of arrows, which can only be replenished by collecting arrows that have been fired. When a plyaer kills an enemy, their arrows can be collected on top of their opponents' deathboxes. Arrows also cannot be obtained through traditional looting, so it’s important to remember the locations where players shot their arrows.
Apex Legends Season 25 Launch Date
Sparrow will be available to play onceApex LegendsSeason 25 officially launches around August 01, 2025. Players will have enough time to get used to playing Sparrow in every game mode, and also observe how he could possiblychangeApex Legends' metain the coming months.
