Game Rant recently spent several days with a pre-built ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop, pushing it to its limits with some of the industry’s latest titles and enjoying its sleek look and cozyRGB lighting. While there are multiple ways that PC gamers can customize the ASUS ROG G700, this particular build was enough to make playing some of today’s most demanding games a breeze — and all from a gaming desktop that felt and sounded like it didn’t have to work hard at all.

The ASUS ROG G700 Gaming Desktop Is Built to Dominate

Right out of the box, even before it’s powered up, the ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop is clean and sleek, boasting a flashy yet sophisticated look that is the perfect complement to almost any setup. Things do change once it’s plugged in and powered on, though, and they change for the better. The smooth RGB lighting serves to accentuate the spacious design of the chassis' interior, which can be seen through the tower’s dual tempered glass panel and has clearly beenstructured to optimize airflow.

The components inside are meticulously arranged for a minimalist look that offers more than enough space for plenty of upgrades in the future. Furthermore, with three fans at the front of the chassis, one at the rear near thePC’s GPU, and vents on almost every side of the tower, the ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop all but guarantees that long play sessions shouldn’t put too much wear and tear on the PC’s hardware.

This particular pre-built ASUS ROG G700 is Intel-based and powered by a new50-series NVIDIA graphics card, which can be seen through the glass panel on the tower’s left side. Even the cable housing is lit up by RGB lighting, so that it blends in with the overall aesthetics rather than sticking out like a sore thumb. After all, the key is to hide the cables, and that includes hiding where they’re hidden.

Key Specs of This ASUS ROG G700 Build

Booting up the ASUS ROG G700 didn’t take long at all, and apart from its initial setup, it ran almost silently. For the most part, the fans boost when the PC boots up, when a game is launched, or when running several programs at once. Aside from that, the ROG G700 is a quiet beast.

Testing the ASUS ROG G700 Gaming Desktop

Of course, saying the ASUS ROG G700 can go to work is one thing, but actually testing it out is another. Fortunately, the G700 did not disappoint while putting it to the test with some of2025’s biggest games.

The first test we ran the ASUS ROG G700 through was with the recentlysuccessfulClair Obscur: Expedition 33. With the graphics preset to “Epic,” this particular G700 build was struggling a bit, but bringing it down to “High” made things run like butter about 99% of the time. Granted,Clair Obscur: Expedition 33is still a brand-new game, and it may need an optimization patch — especially considering how the rest of our testing went.

Fortunately, the G700 did not disappoint while putting it to the test with some of 2025’s biggest games.

Next, we launched Ubisoft’s latest,Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and we were pleasantly surprised. After playing for an hour or so, there were almost no performance issues with the graphics set to “Ultra High.” The frame rate was consistent, even in busy environments, and the game looked fantastic overall. Shortly after that, we ranAlan Wake 2, which is considered one of themost demanding PC gamescurrently, and there were minimal issues there as well on the highest settings, aside from some rare stuttering.

Through all of this testing, the ASUS ROG G700’s heat output was hardly noticeable. It did run a tad warm while playingAlan Wake 2, but that is to be expected. Most importantly, it continued to stay quiet throughout each play session, load times were exceedingly short, and the PC’s power justified playing each game on some of its highest settings.

It’s worth noting that the ASUS ROG G700 can be upgraded beyond what we tested in this build, with tool-less access from the side and front panels for easy upgrades.

All things considered, the ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop manages to strike a balance between performance, design, and practicality, and it does so without feeling like it’s trying too hard to impress. It is, at its core, a clean and powerful machine that can keep pace with some of today’s most demanding games while offering the kind of flexibility and thermal management that PC gamers should expect out of a modern setup. While there are plenty of gaming desktops out there promising the same thing, the ASUS ROG G700 proves it where it matters most: in consistent performance, reliable cooling, and a design that feels just as future-proof as its hardware.
