Summary
While Patch 8 forBaldur’s Gate 3had over 50 pages of patch notes, players remain frustrated that the highly anticipated update didn’t make any changes to how long it takes the game’s characters to scale ladders. The success ofBaldur’s Gate 3can’t be understated, with the 2023 turn-based RPG selling over 15 million copies and winning dozens of awards.
In April,Larian Studios releasedBaldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 8, said to be the game’s final major patch. Many requested features were added in the new update, including Photo Mode and 12 new subclasses, allowing players to further customize their characters. Additionally, the addition of crossplay has made it possible for friends to team up, regardless of their platform of choice. Hundreds of bug fixes and adjustments were also made, and fans were blown away by the sheer amount of work the development team took on to improve the player experience. However, not everyone is entirely happy, with some players pointing out an issue that has yet to be addressed.
In a new post on theBaldur’s Gate 3subreddit, user Ferocs humorously pointed out how long it takes for a player’s party to climb up a ladder, lamenting the fact that this wasn’t improved with the release of Patch 8. Another user pointed out that, when at the top of a ladder, switching to the character at the bottom to get them climbing makes the issue worse, as it causes the other characters to immediately begin to descend instead. WhileBaldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 8 fixed countless issues, it seems that nothing will be done to address this harmless, yet incredibly annoying, problem.
