Baldur’s Gate 3Hotfix 30 is now available for download. This minor release introduces fixes spanning a wide variety ofBaldur’s Gate 3features and systems, including Photo Mode, cross-play, and modding.
Larian Studios has beenchurning outBaldur’s Gate 3content updatesever since launching its hit RPG in August 2023. Patch 8, rolled out in mid-April 2025, was previously labeled as the game’s “final major” update. Be that as it may, the Belgium-based studio isn’t finished refining the game and continues to issue emergency fixes.
As part of these efforts, Larian has now launched yet another update, Hotfix 30, which became available for download earlier today, April 30. This release is largely focused on ironing out issues introduced inBaldur’s Gate 3Patch 8, though it also addresses some problems predating the RPG’s last major update.
Among other things, Hotfix 30 makes several improvements to theBaldur’s Gate 3modding support. Scrolling through the Mod Details page now functions correctly, even when displaying mods with numerous tags. A bug that sent anonymous issue reports to mod authors—even when users were logged in—has been resolved. The update also addresses false-positive “Missing XAML” error messages that appeared in the main menu after players deleted mods and switched their input method from keyboard and mouse to gamepad.
Baldur’s Gate 3Crown Paladinsshould be pleased to learn that Hotfix 30 addresses an annoying issue with their favorite passive skill, Divine Allegiance, which now triggers within normal melee weapon range, much like its tooltip claims it will. On a similar note, the new patch also eliminates an issue that sometimes caused paladins to lose their Auras after performing a Long Rest. Larian tackled similar bugs related to Skilled Skullduggery, Lethal Concealment, and Magical Ambush—none of which will now disappear while sneaking around.
Hotfix 30 also revisits the recently introduced Photo Mode with several fixes. The “Highlights” setting should now work as intended on consoles, while the “Mirror” toggle is now properly translated based on the user’s localization settings. The patch notes also mention a fix for a bug that prevented players from selecting Karlachflayer or Tavflayer in the Photo Mode settings. Additionally, the late April 2025 update includes improvements toBaldur’s Gate 3cross-play support, UI, and subclasses. Performance optimizations are part of the package as well, along with another round of fixes for edge-case-scenario progression blockers and crashes. Based on Larian’s track record and prior statements, it’s plausible thatBaldur’s Gate 3will receive at least one additional batch of bug fixes before summer 2025.
