What Are The Adamantine Items in Baldur’s Gate 3?
InBaldur’s Gate 3, the Adamantine items are a set of various weapons, armor, and a shield that can be acquired in the early stages of the game, in what is usually considered to be the end of Act One, or “Act 1.5”:the Underdark and Mountain Pass. Specifically, players can obtain these items byfinding the Adamantine Forge in the Underdark.
These items are a great find so early in the game, as they provide some of the best passive abilities/effects that can be utilized in builds not only in the early stages of the game but also in the late game. For this reason, knowing the best classes to utilize these items will come in handy.
Best Classes for Adamantine Weapons
Every Adamantine Weapon inBaldur’s Gate 3has two effects unique to Adamantine Weapons:
Slashing
The Adamantine Longsword is a Versatile weapon, meaning it can be wielded two-handed, or one-handed alongside a Shield. This makes it perfect forFighters andPaladins. In a pinch, it could also be used as a two-handed Barbarian weapon. However, the fact that it can be used versatilely and paired with a Shield for extra AC on the other melee tank classes makes it synergize with them a bit better.
Bludgeoning
1d6+1+Strength modifier
TheAdamantine Maceis a one-handed melee weapon, making it a great choice toequip with your Cleric. This is because it can be wielded while also holding a Shield to boost your AC, and because your Spell Slots in the early stages of the game tend to run out a bit more frequently due to being less in quantity, particularly if your Cleric is the only healer/utility character in your party. If your Cleric runs out of Spell Slots, you can simply start hitting with your Mace, giving your Cleric even more impact.
However, the Adamantine Mace can also work for other one-handed + Shield Classes, such as a Paladin ora Fighter. Usually, though, the Adamantine Longsword would serve this purpose better.
1d6+1+Strength/Dexterity modifier
The Adamantine Scimitar is a one-handed Finesse weapon, meaning it calculates damage using either the user’s Strength or Dexterity, whichever is higher. Thus, it is perfect forDEX-based classessuch as the Rogue. It’s also a good fit for a Bard, or as a Ranger’s melee weapon. Since it’s a Finesse Light weapon, you can also wield a second Magical Finesse Light weapon, such as a shortsword, dagger, or another similar in your off-hand to stack other passives and abilities.
Adamantine Armor Items
Each Adamantine Armor item has slightly different effects, but their one common effect is thatattacks cannot land critical hits on the wearer.

The Adamantine Scale Mail is perfect for any Class that primarily utilizes Medium Armor and does not have a build that revolves around Dexterity, as it imposes Disadvantage on Stealth checks. For this reason, Rangers and Rogues with Medium Armor Proficiency are out of the mix. However, that does make this armor perfect for the likes of aCleric, or aWarlockwith Medium Armor Proficiency — perhaps aHexbladewho is more likely to dart in and out of melee range.
