7Summon Storm Atronach

A Summon that Gives the Most Output for Its Cost

There are a lot of spells that players will get to summon all sorts of creatures to aid them in battle — this includes a variety of Atronachs. The most costly of the bunch is the Storm Atronach. However, this is not the most costly summon in the game; that honor goes to the Summon Lich Spell.

Summon Lich costs more than 200 Magicka per cast, but it only occupies the screen for half the time. When compared, Storm Atronachs seem to be able to beat enemies that Liches fall short of defeating before their time runs out.

Shock magic is also what Daedra are weak to. So having this elementalas a weapon enchantmentis a good thing to take into rifts.

6Legendary Life Detection

A Stealth Build’s Best Friend for Dungeon Crawling

Thieves do not use any schools of magic when it comes to their Major Skills. However, players can pick up Minor Life Detection for cheap. They can cast this while jumping their way to their next destination torapidly level up their Mysticismand their Acrobatics at the same time. This will let them reach Master rank in the skill without putting much effort into it.

This spell lets them know where all enemies in the area are, and so long as they go in sneakily, they can get the drop on each one of them. Combining a bow, strong arrow, poison, and a sneak attack, can lead to some highly impressive damage numbers.

5Immolating Blast

The Best Way for a Mage to Clear Out a Cave Full of Zombies

This fire spell has an ice counterpart called Ice Blast, and a shock counterpart called Electrocution. While these all deal the same amount of points in damage, Ice Blast is the cheapest to cast. Players should use ice as their go-to and save the other 2 for when they need to change up their elemental approach.

Using any Destruction spell will help raise the level of this school of magic by casting all of them. Fire beats out ice, as undead take more damage from fire. Daedra take more damage from shock, but there is a specific shock spell players will want to seek out for them.

4Finger of the Mountain

The Strongest Damage Spell in Oblivion Remastered

Players will get this spell by continuing the Fingers of the Mountain questline. They can pursue this by making sure topick Earana over Teekeeuswhen it comes time to hand over the book. This spell pushes out Immolation Blast, not just in cost, but at its highest level, it serves as the single strongest Destruction school of magic spell in the entire game.

As previously stated, Daedra are weak to shock magic. This makes it the perfect spell for mages to pick up while progressing through themain story of the game.

3Paralyze

Stops Opponents from Fighting Back for Easy Wins

This spell is far cheaper than Fingers of the Mountain, but it has a short-lived duration of only 10 seconds. However, in those 10 seconds, the player is free to utterly wail on their helpless victim. Once the target has been paralyzed, they will usually fall over, causing them to waste additional time getting back up.

This serves as a telegraph for players to reapply the spell before they finish this animation. Doing so will stunlock them into an endless cycle of taking damage without being able to fight back.

Making a target weaker to magic will extend the duration of this spell. However, the spell ends sooner for enemies that are resistant to magic.

2Legendary Spell Reflection

Become Immune to Magic and Send Damage Back at Foes

Legendary Spell Reflection will result in all damage to the player from a spell being completely mitigated. Not only that, the spell itself will be sent right back at its user. This makes it both the perfect defense and damage output buff when facing off against the game’s most dangerous of spellcasters.

For players that find magic their bane in the game, picking up the Mysticism school of magic will be their best defense, even more than Alteration. There is also an effect called Spell Absorption that will mitigate damage from spells and add it to the user’s Magicka. However, reflection allows for more attacks in a shorter time frame.

Players can enchant gear with this spell for it to permanently protect them while they focus on attacking.

1Legendary Soul Trap

Become Deified as the Most Powerful Thing in the Game

Players willfind plenty of Soul Gemsthroughout the game, and they come in varying degrees of potency. Soul Trap spells are used to fill empty Soul Gems with the souls of fallen enemies. What makes these spells the best in the game is that they allow players to fill up every empty Soul Gem they find to endlessly fuel their enchanted weapons.

However, they are also used to enchant pieces of gear. Legendary Soul Trap means players can make some of the most broken and OP pieces of gear that will let them remain completely undetectable to enemies. They can even make it so theyhave 100% Reflect Damage. This will let them bounce everything their opponents throw right back at them.
