Summary
The Dark System. A term that every seriousMobile Legends: Bang Bang(MLBB)player has heard or claimed to experience. A term that denotes sudden and allegedly manipulated loss streaks due to imbalanced teams. However, it is worth noting thatMoontonhas never confirmed this; it is just that matchmaking aims for fairness, and this is a community term, exclusively.
Nevertheless, what should players do to escape their losing streak or continue their epic winning streaks? Well, the obvious answer is to be a “flex player” that plays multiple roles, but that is vague advice, and most already do. This list will provide struggling or curious players withfun meta heroesthat can carry their respective games, alongside their win rates, stats, combos, and meta builds, so players can master them and climb ranks fast. The stats will only showcase what is relevant to the character. Note that heroes on this list are not ranked, as it would be impossible to do so due to their different roles.
HP: 2550
Magic Defense: 15
Movement Speed: 260
Lukas, the Beast of Light, is currently the most overpowered Jungler in the current meta, dominating both ranked play and the pro scene due to his high burst damage, exceptional durability, three sources of CC-immunity, and an AOE stun. Boasting a 51.59% win rate, Lukas deletes enemies, even with a level gap at times. To master him, players must understand his many abilities:
Human Form
Sacred Beast Form
Lukas’s typicalcombostarts with Ultimate, Skill 2, two Basic Attacks, Skill 1, and Ultimate (if needed). This combo can burst down enemies and take them by surprise, while providing them with almost no escape or counterplay. His mobility and CC-immunity make him a potent Jungler. Meanwhile, his knockback and stun allow him to CC enemies, and his dashes and blinks enable him to outmaneuver them too. Lukas is mechanically demanding, but his dominance cannot be overlooked. However, he is weak during the early game and has a famouscounter,Valentina. She can copy and use his Ultimate more often than he can. Valir and Fanny also make good counters to Lukas. When leveling Lukas, upgradeSkill 1, then Skill 2, and the Ultimate whenever possible.
The build:Lukas' mainsmust always buildHunters Strike and War Axe as their core items, as they provide Physical Attack, Cooldown reduction, and Movement Speed. Queen’s Wings and Rose Gold Meteor provide great survivability and anti-burst, and Blade of Despair (BoD) grants powerful burst damage. However, against tanky comps, use Malefic Roar instead of Queen’s Wings to shred tanks. Against squishy characters or in fast-paced games, Sky Piercer beats BoD. Lukas’sBattle Spellshould be Flame Retribution.
HP: 2335
Movement Speed: 255
Mana Regen: 5.6
In the current meta, the Blood Demon Cecilion is arguably the strongest Mid Laner, especially when considering his relative ease of use compared to Selena, who requires precise aim to be effective. Cecilion offers a strong poke game and massive burst damage, scaling into the late game. Cecilion’s 52.73% win rate and usage in the pro scene reflect his dominance. His skills are:
The corecomboevery Cecilion player must learn starts with his Ultimate to slow and pressure enemies, followed by Skill 1 for burst damage, Skill 2 to immobilize enemies, and Skill 1 again to finish them off. This combo provides strong zoning, control, and damage. Cecilion excels in team fights and has a strong mid-to-late-game presence; he can spam his Skill 1 to delete enemies. However, he struggles in the early game due to his poor mobility and need to build stacks. So,players must focus on farming in the early game. Cecilion has a fewcounters, notably Chang’e, who has high burst, long-range, and can eliminate him with one ultimate due to Cecilion’s poor mobility. Jawhead and Franco can force up-close fights, CC, and negate his strengths. When leveling Cecilion, upgrade Skill 1, then Skill 2, and the Ultimate whenever available.
The Build: Demon Boots provides Mana Regen to build stacks quicker in the early game. Clock of Destiny is a must-have, giving Mana, damage, health, and survivability. Glowing Wand and Divine Glaive are used to counter tanks and regen characters. Wishing Lantern provides more damage in the late game, and Blood Wings will give added survivability. Alternatively, players can swap Wish Lantern or Glowing Wand for Winter Crown or Immortality if they are being burst down by enemies. Cecilion’sBattle Spellis Flicker or Sprint to overcome his low mobility.
HP: 2225
Movement Speed: 240
Mana Regen: 4
A controversial pick, but one worth considering. It is undeniable that Harith and Granger are regarded asthe best Gold LanersinMLBB’s current Meta. However, Granger is consistently banned, and both of these characters can be tough to use, especially if the player does not have fast hands, misses shots, or has poor positioning. Meanwhile, the Moon Elf, Miya, is beginner-friendly, outscaling nearly everything in the late game. She can also have bad positioning and not get punished as badly due to her Ultimate. Miya sits at a 50.29% win rate. Her abilities are:
Miya’s best combostarts with her Ultimate to conceal, position, and obtain max stacks of Hidden Moonlight, opening with Skill 2 to immobilize and slow enemies, and Skill 1 to enhance her Basic Attacks. Then Basic Attack till the enemy disappears. Miya has high carry potential due to her quick and high damage Basic Attacks. She is an oppressive force late game, and her Ultimate provides a free purify to get rid of CC and escape dangerous encounters. However, she is weak in the early game and must farm till mid-to-late game, but this is not too bad given her solid wave clear, AOE, and CC. When leveling Miya, upgradeSkill 2 at the start of the game, then prioritize Skill 1, then Skill 2, and the Ultimate whenever possible.
The build:Swift boots enhance Miya’s attack speed. The core item, Windtalker, increases Miya’s Attack Speed, Crit, and Movement Speed, making it invaluable. Beserker’s Fury and Haas' Claws give further Crit, Attack Speed, Crit Damage, Lifesteal, and Physical Attack, leveraging her strengths and providing sustain. Malefic Roar helps armor shred tanks, and BoD gives sweet burst damage. If Malefic Roar is unnecessary, consider Sea Halberd or Wind of Nature to counter Regen or Burst, respectively. Miya’sBattle Spellis Inspire.
HP: 2623
The Valkyrie, Freya, is currently one of the best characters in the game for EXP! Freya is a meta character that can solo an entire team for a savage, due to her sustained damage and high durability. She is a scourge in the pro scene and has a 50.12% win rate overall. To master Freya and use her effectively, players must understand her skills:
Freya’scombostarts with her activating her Ultimate to enter the Valkyrie state to give herself max sacred orb stacks and increased damage. Initiate fights with her Skill 1 and use her Skill 2, weaving in Basic Attacks between every cast of Skill 2. Freya can also use theBattle Spell, Inspire, to further increase her attack speed and ignore the enemy’s defenses. Freya is a powerhouse late game and strong enough to win most early-game duels. However, she has weaknesses, struggling against hard CC, range, and targeting by experienced players. Further, she hascounters;WanWan removes her CC and kites her at range. Minsittar and Edith can CC her, tank her attacks, and shut her down. When leveling Freya, upgradeSkill 2, then Skill 1, and the Ultimate whenever possible!
The Build:Players should build BoD as their first core item to maximize Freya’s early game pressure. Tough Boots helps her against CC, one of her weaknesses. Beserker’s Fury and Great Dragon Spear increase her Crit, Crit damage, make her move faster in her Ultimate, and add to the already insane Physical Attack provided by BoD. Malefic Roar helps shred tanks by giving Physical Penetration and Attack. Lastly, Endless Battle gives Physical Attack, Movement Speed, Health, Lifesteal, and, more importantly, the passive Divine Justice, for True Damage and added Movement Speed. This build makesFreya a force to be reckoned with. Malefic Roar can be swapped out for Sea Halberd if they have more regen than tankiness. Freya’sBattle Spellis Inspire.
HP: 2600
The Grand Warden, Centaur Hylos,is an easy-to-playand intimidating Roamer due to having the highest HP in the game, insane durability, and amazing mobility. Hylos has a 53.03% win rate overall and remains meta in the pro scene, showcasing dominance at all levels of play. His skills are:
The bestcombofor Hylos starts with the Ultimate to initiate, then his Skill 1 to stun, his Skill 2 for continuous pressure, and Basic Attacks. Hylos is a complete package, having an AOE slow, knockback, stun, and debuffs for days. He can dish out and tank damage, create plays, and target Squishy characters. This type of Roamer excels in solo queue, as solo players cannot rely on competent team members. However, he has weaknesses, mainly to CC, Kiting, and his lack of burst. Further, there arecountersto this character, most prominently Cici, who is not an uncommon soft counter. She can punish him; She slows, has high movement, kites, and has HP-based damage. Valir and Kimmy are also horrible match-ups. When leveling Hylos, upgradeSkill 2, then Skill 1, and the Ultimate whenever possible.
The Build: Tough Boots give CC and Slow Resistance, which are invaluable on Hylos. Dominance Ice is a staple, as it counters Regen and Tanks, while giving HP, Physical Defense, and Movement Speed. The Thunder Belt gives HP, Physical and Magical Defense, and Movement Speed. Meanwhile, the Passive deals True Damage, Slows, and raises Hybrid Defense by 1 per stack, which is important to build early. Clock of Destiny gives Magic Power, which enables Hylos to do damage. Cursed Helmet and Guardian Helmet give a ton of HP and passive damage. Hylos can swap Clock of Destiny or Cursed Helmet for Radiant Armor or Blade Armor, if they are facing strong Crit Marksmen or strong Magic Damage. Hylos’sBattle Spellis Vengeance.
Alternative choices are Karina for Jungler, Edith and Masha for EXP, Estus for Roam, Granger or Brody for Gold Lane, and Selena or Zhuxin for Middle Lane.
