InClair Obscur: Expedition 33, developers Sandfall Interactive have offered players one of the most polished indie games of all time, with stellar graphics, engaging combat, anda heart-wrenching storythat ties it all together.
Even still, mods serve as a means for players to alter aspects of the game to their own preferences. The more beloved a game is, the more active its modding community—and that holds true forClair Obscur: Expedition 33as well.

To showcase one of its biggest strengths—the visuals—Clair Obscur: Expedition 33tries to keep its HUD elements as minimal as possible. However, in order to avoid leaving players completely without any guidance, there aresomepersistent HUD indicators present at all stages of the game.
The No-HUD-No-Effects mod allows players to turn off these HUD elements individually, like the compass, crosshair, and health bars, to strip away the game to its more barebones form. On top of that, it also includes toggles for special effects like Vignette, arrow trails, character glow, and parry effects to allow players to modify the experience to their own preferences.
6Better Skill Descriptions

Expedition 33allows players the freedom to create sometruly game-breaking buildscentered around the creative use of Picto, Lumina, and Skill combinations. However, since the skill descriptions are often vague and do not give an accurate mathematical indicator of how their damage output is being calculated, figuring out optimal builds requires trial and error.
The Better Skill Descriptions mod removes that requirement, allowing players to understand the underlying mechanics behind character skills. Not only does it give exact damage multipliers for skills, but it also explains how confusing mechanics like Sciel’s Foretells and Lune’s Stains function.
5Alternative Camera

The third-person camera inClair Obscur: Expedition 33is fixed. The character’s position relative to the camera is always on the left side of the screen, with a relatively close-up view of the person’s back, which is what players see during exploration.
The Alternative Camera mod offers multiple presets that change the camera orientation in various ways. This includes how far back the camera placement is relative to the character and which part of the screen the controlled character’s model appears. There is even a centered preset to emulate the look of aclassic open-world RPG.
499,999 or 999,999 Damage Cap Mod
Downloads: 6,293
Starting from Act 2, the biggest limiter on a player isn’t that the enemies have too much HP or that parrying is too hard, but that the game imposes a damage cap of 9999 on all damage. This puts a damper onbroken Picto and Lumina combinationsthat can easily build on top of each other for staggeringly high numbers, preventing players from exploiting the system too much.
While there is a way to remove the damage cap in-game through a certain Picto, it only becomes available quite a ways into the game. The 99,999 or 999,999 Damage Cap Mod adjusts this limitation, increasing the damage cap from 9999 to 99999 or 999999, depending on player preference. This does notremovethe damage cap entirely, like the aforementioned Picto; it only increases it.
3More Upgrade Materials

For players keen on experimenting with different builds inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, a key limitation is the lack ofupgrade materials to level all of their weaponsand the lack of Lumina points. More Upgrade Materials doubles all materials obtained for defeating monsters and triples the rewards for defeating Pitanks.
The items affected by this mod include all Chroma Catalysts, Colors of Lumina, and Recoats. Do note, however, that More Upgrade Materials only affects drops from defeated Nevrons; items picked up from the ground are exempt.
2ClairObscurFix
Downloads: 38,061
ClairObscurFix mod fixes multiple miscellaneous problems withExpedition 33in a single package. The main issue being addressed is removing the frame cap of 30 FPS in cutscenes, allowing players to experience the game’s story moments at 60 FPS or even higher if their machines can handle it.
The second big issue it solves is the lack of Ultrawide monitor support for the game, which forced players with 21:9 ratio screens to play in suboptimal conditions. Other adjustments include removing the letterboxing (cinema-style black bars at the top and bottom) during cutscenes, disabling the forced sharpening, and enabling the developer console.

By design,Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s combat revolves almost entirely around parrying and dodging perfectly, especially at Expert difficulty. Despite being a turn-based title on the surface, the fast response time needed to pull off parries consistently means thatClair Obscuroften feels like a Soulslikeduring battles.
Easier or Harder Dodge and Parry increases (or decreases) the invulnerability frames of the Parry and Dodge window, allowing players to tailor the experience to their own preferences. Five presets are included in the mod: Slightly Easier, Easier, Even Easier, Disgustingly Easy, and True Expert. Only True Expert is meant to make parrying and dodging even harder than the base game; the rest make it easier to pull off.
