My Hero Academiais a beloved shonen franchise known for its detailed and complex narrative and characters, many action-packed fights, and its portrayal of the dark side of superhuman society. With its popularity and with seven current seasons under its belt, there has been a lot of publicity and promotional material over the years that seeks to engage fans in the newest season of the anime.
Thesebest MHA anime postersselected from both the main series and the movies demonstrate different art styles and character interactions and paint an overall picture of the tone of the series. These posters manage to capture the season’s vibe particularly well, whether they show many charactersand action, or a more solemn vibe with heightened drama.
12Season 5 B
The Calm Before The Storm
Season 5 is a slower season than the others, as it narrates the beginning of the buildup to the first war. This poster manages to capture the sense of the uneasy quiet before the storm, as well as the era Japan now finds itself in, the era of Endeavor as the No.1 hero. Endeavor and his work-study students are a large focus in this second half of Season 5, as Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki learn how to increase their power under him. However, more light is shed onthe Todoroki family’s dark past, as reflected by having Endeavor’s other son, Natsuo, and daughter Fuyumi featured prominently.
There are fewer characters portrayed here than in other posters, and it shows no action, yet it perfectly captures the season’s vibe and solemnity as the heroes, like Endeavor, begin to change and reflect on their past actions, and the fact that the villains are planning the build-up to the first war.
11You’re Next
The Newest Movie Has A Gripping Anime Poster
You’re Nextis the most recent film in MHA’s movie continuity, focusing on the heroes' fight against a new villain. This tie-in poster uses a unique gold color palette and showcases a lot of drama as the heroes take on the so-called “Dark Might.” The fact that Deku and Katsuki are in the foreground shows the two’s improved relationship by this point in the series, and the fact that they’re now good friends and help each other.
As well as having Class A’s Big Three, that being Deku, Katsuki, and Shoto Todoroki, it’s refreshing that Ochaco and Tenya Iida are in the spotlight too, considering the big role these two also have in the Final War alongside the three main heroes. The more recent seasons give more glory to the “Big Three,” so it’s nice to see Deku’s original friends being acknowledged here and, together, these five Class 1-A members play individual and crucial roles in the war.
10Season 1 A
The Original Beloved Promotional Art
The very first original MHA anime promotional poster captures the vibe of its opening season perfectly. With bright, bold colors and showcasing many new colorful characters, it paints a vivid image of the excitement and everything fans could expect from Season 1. With All Might in the background watching over this new generation of heroes, it highlights how he’s keen to help themuse their Quirks to the best of their abilities, just as he’s particularly doing with Deku after he chooses him as his successor.
The personalities of Deku’s new classmates are captured here, from Ochaco’s friendliness to Mineta’s cowardice, Bakugo’s heartlessness, and Iida’s seriousness. This poster is immediately eye-catching and, more than that, completely iconic for the series.
9Heroes Rising
Subtle Storytelling In A Seemingly Simple Poster
Heroes Risingis frequently seen as the strongest of MHA’s movie entries, especially for the way it portrays Deku and Katsuki’s relationship and the way they team up to take down the villain Nine, which involves Deku transferring One For All to Katsuki. These events made for an exciting movie climax and an engrossing film all around, and this poster captures the essence of the two’s relationship and the fact that both of them are connected to One For All. Seeing as All Might has passed the baton onto Deku, and both Deku and Katsuki look up to him, this shows that they both have a role to play involving O.F.A.
The poster uses some new visual effects, colors, and lighting, and though it may seem relatively minimal, this gives it its charm as it depicts the two’s new relationship, which All Might helped them establish: to win and save, and save and win, by working together. The fact that Katsuki is the only other one to know of One For All at this point is an important focal point of the movie. He becomes tied up with O.F.A.after possessing it briefly himself; later in the series, this is seen on a more thematic level involving O.F.A.’s second user, Kudo. This poster does a good job of portraying the heightened drama of this movie as well as foreshadowing the deeper connection both Deku and Katsuki have to One For All.
8Season 4 A
Showcases The Heroes' Desperation To Save Eri
Season 4 A is an action-packed arc with some very high stakes, as Deku undertakes his very first work study, which doesn’t go at all as he planned. After finding themselves caught up with Overhaul and his Shie Hassaikai yakuza group, the heroes must fight against this evil, and as such, Dekuteams up with many new Prossuch as Fat Gum. They also must put an end to the evil Overhaul is doing to Eri, and thus, this poster shows their desperate attempt to free her.
This poster points to Eri’s distress and confusion, and the fact that the heroes must save her and that they’re running out of time, depicted by the dramatic body language and Deku and Lemillion desperately reaching out their hands. With some new faces, intense action, and a heightened sense of drama, this poster promised this season would be good and gripping.
7Season 2 A
Lighthearted And Fun
Season 2 is beloved mainly for its Sports Festival arc, an exciting tournament of fights and obstacles in which there can only be one winner. By now, all the characters in Class 1-A have been established, with their own powers and personalities, and thus this poster is jam-packed with everyone in it. It shows each character’s personality traits well by the way they put up their “peace signs,' as well as the friendships Deku has begun to establish in his new school.
On another note, Season 2’s opening song is called “Peace Sign,” so this poster both ties in really well to the events of the season and the song, which introduces viewers to this exciting arc. This poster is highly fun, exciting, and very eye-catching, and even though it’s full of characters, each one can be seen easily.
6Season 6 B
The Series' Gloomy Tone Is Perfectly Captured In This Moving Poster
Deku’s Vigilante arc is one of the darkest arcs in the series, as Deku feels the need to withdraw from U.A. and go it alone in his quest to find the villains. This powerful and dramatic poster captures his sense of isolation and the heavy burden he feels is all on him, to defeat Shigaraki and All For One, feeling it’s his duty alone, so that everyone else is safe. Deku is weary and tired, and, as reflected in the characters' body language, feels the need to cut himself off from even All Might, too.
The dramatic and dark color palette, and the fact that there are few characters in it, reflect the solemnity and darkness of this arc. One for All’s many vestiges are seen, since by now Deku can communicate with them more freely than before, but even they begin to realize that Deku needs his friends more than ever at this point in the narrative, as seen in their facial expressions.
5World Heroes' Mission
Dramatic And Eye-Catching
The MHA movies have a reputation for success, hence why there are currently four of them. The third MHA movie follows the exciting plot of the heroes and their work-study students on a mission that takes them around the globe, with each having the common goal of stopping the extremist organization Humarise. This poster gives an undeniably exciting vibe and is a very action-packed promotional poster, generating hype for the movie.
Solidifying their status as Class 1-A’s “Big Three,” the movie predominately focuses on Endeavor’s work study students, none other than Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki, as they are faced with the seemingly impossible task of finding and disarming Humarise’s weapons in a matter of hours before a large population is killed. This poster stands out as one of thebest MHA postersfor its unique usage of colors, lighting effects, and saturation, which creates a more realistic vibe.
4Season 4 B
A Lighthearted Yet Fun Poster
Season 4 opened with high stakes in the mission to take down Overhaul and rescue Eri, yet its second half has a much more relaxed vibe, as Class 1-A prepares for their school’s culture festival. As such, this poster is highly fun as it’s such a unique, lighthearted, and colorful angle to take. As a stand-out, the entirety of Class 1-A is on display here, which shows their united approach to putting on the best show possible for the festival and making Eri smile.
Their body language shows a lot of excitement and a carefree approach after the traumatic and intense events they’ve been through in the series so far. The color palette bears hallmarks of the manga volume depicting their festival, and as such, this poster is beloved for taking a novel and unique approach.
3Season 5 A
Really Ups The Ante For A Seemingly Bland Arc
Season 5 may largely be seen as the weakest of MHA’s seasons because of the relatively low stakes and slower pacing than what came before. However, this captivating poster manages to turn one of the least popular arcs into something more gripping. The Joint Training arc may not be a fan favorite, but this poster, with its vibrant colors and depictions of Class 1 A and B’s prominent members, immediately makes things feel more interesting.
This eye-catching poster’s design demonstrates the rivalry the two classes have, especially on Class 1-B’s part, because they feel overshadowed by the more famous Class A most of the time. This makes Season 5 feel like it had kicked off with a greater bang than it actually did.
