One of the most underrated feats inOne Piececomes from a kitchen miracle during the Whole Cake Island Arc. Luffy had ruined the huge wedding cake the size of a house that Big Mom had been looking forward to eating at Sanji’s arranged wedding.
Big Mom has been shown to go crazy when she’s craving a specific meal and doesn’t get it, and this time was no different. As she rampages and destroys parts of her kingdom looking for a replacement for the cake Luffy destroyed, it seems like a hopeless situation, until Sanji steps in and teams up with Charlotte Pudding and chefs from the Charlotte family to bake a new cake that calms and satisfies the rampaging Big Mom.
6Dorry & Brogy
Friendship And Rivalry
Dorry and Brogy, giants from Elbaph who are co-captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, a crew composed entirely of giants, had been in an ongoing duel for 100 years. With no winners each time they clashed, they developed an unbreakable bond, which led to them being unfazed in the face of an enemy.
The Straw hats eventually befriend these two giants during their visit to the Little Garden. Later on, Dorry and Brogy help the Staw hats leave the Island using aspecial joint Giant attack,“Hakoku Sovereignty,”which blasts them through the belly of a giant sea king blocking their path and propels them into the open seas.
5Law & Kid
When Stubbornness And Pride Mix
In the final parts of the Wano Arc, Big Mom meets defeat at the hands of Law and Kid. Leaving Luffy to face Kaido on the rooftop, they adopt a “divide and conquer” strategy to take on the two Emperors of the Sea.
This duo fought with their lives on the line to make sure Big Mom would not reunite on the rooftop with Kaido. They use each other to create openings for attacks, and a combined attack from Kid and Law defeats Big Mom, ultimately stopping her from returning to the battle above.
4The Impel Down Prison Escape Team
All Hands On Deck
Impel Down is where the World Government keeps its most dangerous criminals. It’s a maximum-security underwater prison in the “Calm Belt” with six levels, and the prison’s Chief Warden at the time was Magellan—a skilled Devil Fruit user. Yet, somehow, Luffy breaks in on a rescue mission to save his brother.
On his way down to the sixth level, he meets former enemies, makes new friends, and teams up with all of them to break out of prison. At that point, it didn’t matter who was a good guy or a bad guy, everyone wanted out. The teamwork, the planning, the team members, the sacrifice, the journey, and the race against timeall packed into this Arcwas exhilarating. With only one inmate recorded to have broken out of Impel Down until this team-up, this time, 241 inmates escaped, making it the biggest breakout in Impel Down History.
3Kaido & Big Mom
One Great Force
Not all team-ups are born out of desperate situations, some are forged through mutual ambition and raw power. This team-up on the Onigashima Castle rooftop during the Wano Arc threatened to reshape the pirate world. Two already-feared figures, Kaido and Big Mom, allied so strongly that their enemies knew they couldn’t be defeated as long as they were together.
These two made a significant impact on the younger generation of pirates. Whether or not they could have achieved their goals without the interference of the Nine Red Scabbards, Straw Hats, Heart Pirates, and Kid Pirates, they proved themselves to be an unbeatable duo in their fight against them.
2The Former Three Admirals
The World Government’s Big Guns
So far inOne Piece, only once have these three powerful Logia-type Admirals, Kizaru, Aokiji, and Akainu, all fought together againstthe White Beard Pirates in Marienford HQ. In this unavoidable clash, this team-up stood out more than any other marine soldier.
Their teamwork and coordination led to a major victory for the Marines. They successfully executed Ace, which was their primary objective, and significantly contributed to defeating Whitebeard and driving off what was left of the Whitebeard Pirates. Despite Marineford sustaining massive damage, their mission was accomplished.
1Garp & Roger
True Legends
This team-up is one of the most unexpected in the story, Garp being a Marine soldier and Roger being a pirate, yet both joined forces to stop a notorious pirate group called the Rocks Pirates. At that time, the Rocks Pirates had a crew with characters like Big Mom, Kaido, and Whitebeard, who later became Emperors of the Sea. Theircaptain, Rocks D. Xebec, is respected and powerfulenough to have such crewmates.
Despite being on opposite sides of the law, Garp and Roger joined hands to defeat the Rocks Pirates at God Valley. Their alliance led to the disbandment of the crew and the end of Xebec’s reign. This feat alone earned Garp the title Hero of the Marines, while Roger’s victory paved the way for his discovery of Joy Boy’s treasure and birthed the idea of the Pirate King, which only he has ever truly become.
