With theAvengers: Doomsdaycast announcement video that spanned over 5 hours, fans received a few surprise names that will be joining the fight against Doctor Doom, but there are some names not attached toAvengers: Doomsdaythat might confuse audiences, for the most important and powerful heroes in theMCUare seemingly absent from the cast… so far.

There are plenty of characters that could still cameo inAvengers: Doomsday, and the multiverse movie could still surprise audiences with heroes of the past that, while they have not currently been announced, could, and should, still receive afew minutes of screen time.

The characters listed below have not been officially announced to return inAvengers: Doomsdayas of July 21, 2025.

7Spider-Man

The One and Only Wall-Crawler Deserves an Avengers Spot

Spider-Man’s story is set to continue in 2026 withSpider-Man: Brand New Day, but despite the troubles that await Peter Parker in his own New York City adventure, it seems that more trouble could come his way if he’s involved inAvengers: Doomsday. It’s a curious case for Spidey as to why he’s not announced for the cast. Could it be explained in his own solo movie, or could he cameo in the movie as a surprise?

While it’s not known whether Tom Holland will appear as Spider-Man, there’s so much potential for the character on this team, especially since there are Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Mans that would make forexcellent additionstoo.

6Captain Marvel

One of the Strongest Avengers, Left Behind in Space

Carol Danvers is yet another iconic hero that hasn’t been announced, and considering her importance as one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe of 616, it seems strange that she’s nowhere to be seen. Surely the threat of the multiverse ending would be on a list of priorities for her, especially when it could involve her dear friend who’s stranded in the X-Men’s dimension.

The Marvels(2023) is quite important forAvengers: Doomsdaydue to its multiverse connections, and missing out on a woman who could easily solo fight Thanos seems like a recipe for disaster for the Avengers if they are going to try and stop worlds from literally colliding.

5Deadpool & Wolverine

The Multiverse Could Use These R-Rated Heroes

Deadpool and Wolverine have sealed themselves as a package deal after theirincredible chemistryand blossoming violent friendship in 2024’sDeadpool & Wolverine. The duo seems to be doing okay, sharing the same universe with the TVA, promising to call upon them should they need to. What better time to call on these amazing heroes than when the multiverse could end?

Deadpool’s humor and Wolverine’s violence is a match made in heaven, and the duo most certainly need to feature inAvengers: Doomsday, especially with the returning X-Men characters that will see Wolverine and Cyclops together again, and provide Deadpool with a fulfilling dream of being on a prestigious team such as this – so long as he keeps the F-bombs to a minimum.

4Doctor Strange

It’s Not a Multiverse of Madness Without a Sorcerer Surpreme

One of the most surprising lack of casting announcements was that of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, who has been involved in the MCU for years now. Doctor Strange not only opened the doors for multiverse stories with bothDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessandSpider-Man: No Way Home, but he also has the magicalabilities that could rival those of Doctor Doom.

Doctor Strange is extremely important, especially since he has heard and seen incursions firsthand. His experience with Professor X from another timeline could be key to defeating Doctor Doom and forming relationships to create, perhaps, the Illuminati in 616, as this amazing sorcerer battles Doctor Doom.

3Star-Lord

Star-Lord Will Return, But When?

The legendary outlaw and hero, Star-Lord, had his story conclusively told inGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3(2023), but it’s not over for Peter Quill. Sure, Star-Lord is enjoying some much-needed time off back on Earth with his grandfather, making up for all those years he lost while adventuring in the galaxy with a ragtag group of friends, buthis story isn’t over.

Even the end credits forGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3made it clear that the legendary Star-Lord will return, soAvengers: Doomsdayfeels like the perfect chance to bring him back. Star-Lord is going to be clued in on the dangers on Earth since he’s living here now, so why not make him an honorary Avenger?

2Hulk & She-Hulk

Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters Need to Smash Doom Bots

Two characters who have been absent for quite some time are those of Bruce’s Hulk and Jennifer’s She-Hulk. The two haven’t appeared much these last few years, and it would be nice to see Mean and Green represented on the big screen. There is plenty of room for Hulk stories in the MCU, and the constant confusion around rights with Universal means that while Hulk can’t have his own movie,he can have arcsinAvengers: Doomsday.

PerhapsAvengers: Doomsdayis the perfect chance to bring back the Hulk and She-Hulk for an interesting side story involving the two cousins as they fight on foreign worlds and even learn more about what it is to be a Hulk, especially since Bruce now has a son that’s barely been touched upon.

1Miles Teller’s Reed Richards

The Council of Reeds Can Stop Doom, With a Twist

For years, fans have wanted to see the talented Miles Teller back as Reed Richards for one specific reason, and that’s to take the spot of villainy. Miles Teller played Mr. Fantastic in 2015’sFantastic Fourreboot, but poor commercial success and critical reception made it so that this version of the character was forever forgotten. Yet, there’s still redemption for Miles Teller’s Reed, who could eventually come back to rivalthe biggest bad of allas The Maker.

Miles Teller’s Reed Richards could feature in a Council of Reed type deal, where the multiverse of the smartest man on Earth has its own way of fixing things. It’s no secret that Doom is Reed’s greatest enemy, and what if one Reed snapped and decided to go into villainy?
