Chicago Med Season 10 Featured Robin Charles, And She Should Come Back For Season 11
Robin Charles comes back inChicago Medseason 10, episode 21, “Baby Mine…“for her grandmother’s funeral. She supports her father, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), who is grieving this challenging loss, and also her sister, Anna (Hannah Riley), who has left college.Robin is an important character thanks to her complex and interesting relationship with Dr. Charles,and it would be great to see her again in season 11.
Robin leftChicago Medin season 3 and moved to Minneapolis, where her mother lived. Fans last caught up with Robin inseason 5, episode 9, “I Can’t Imagine the Future,“when she mourned her mother’s death from lymphoma. When she’s introduced in season 2, she’s an epidemiologist who hasn’t dealt with her father much in a while. Robin is at the center of a significant storyline that allowedChicago Medto explore the topic of mental health struggles. After a potential schizophrenia diagnosis,she learns she has a brain tumor. It’s heartbreaking watching Robin and her family go through this situation.
Whether watching Robin’s relationship with her former love interest Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell), who isn’t onthe successful hospital dramaanymore, or observing her connection with her father, Robin is one of the bestChicago Medcharacters. She also helps humanize Dr. Charles and makes him more likable since it’s nice to see how much he cares about his daughters. SinceMekia Cox currently stars onThe Rookieas Nyla Harper, who played an important role inthe season 7 finalesearching for Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave), she likely couldn’t join the cast ofChicago Medseason 11 full-time. However,it would make sense for Robin to appear in at least a few episodes.
No matterwhat happens in theChicago Medseason 10 finale, Dr. Charles is likely going to remain a major character, and it would be great to see more scenes of him and his daughter. This is especially true if the cliffhanger teasted at the end of the last episode has a devastating result. Robin could drop in at Gaffney to assist with a patient problem, or she could move to Chicago for a new job. Either way, Robin should be given a weighty storyline because she’s a clever character who fans would love to see more of.
Mekia Cox Enjoyed Playing Robin Charles On Chicago Med
In a 2016 interview withTell Tale TV, Mekia Cox said it was a great experience starring onChicago Med,and she shared some interesting details about it. The actress praised her co-star Oliver Platt, who has someemotional plotlines in season 10, and also talked about the process of memorizing dialogue that includes medical language. Cox said:
“The most preparation goes into learning this medical jargon, because it’s so outside of the norm of the way you speak. That took a while for me to get used to.”
She continued:
“It has to just roll off of your tongue like this is something that you say every day. The repetition is just working those muscles inside of your mouth to verify that you say it the way a doctor would normally say it.
In a 2017 interview withSpoiler TV, Cox talked about Robin’s own medical storyline and what it was like portraying a character who has a brain tumor. She said:
“it’s something that you can dig your teeth into which I think we as actors we always want. I really enjoyed working with that cast and being able to play that role and being able to go so deeply into a character.”
