However, Horii said he is open to the idea after hearing numerous fan requests about the project, particularly since 2025 marked 30 years since the game’s original launch on the SNES. Square Enix has not officially confirmed if aChrono Triggerremake is being developed. As the main creator of thepopularDragon Questseries, Horii will also oversee some upcoming releases.Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remakewill launch sometime in 2025, and development continues on the upcomingDragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate. Only a few details aboutDragon Quest 12have been released by Horii and Square Enix, with future tidbits released “little by little” over time.
