Has The President of Crunchyroll Confirmed Solo Leveling Season 3?

Rahul Purini was recently interviewed byDeadlineand talked about many of the company’s series and plans, including the production ofSolo Leveling. According to him,the series is such a game-changer that it is shaping the company’s strategies for future series and experimenting more— the production of aGhost of Tsushimaanime adaptation is an example of this.

As for the production ofSolo Leveling Season 3specifically,he made a vague comment and hasn’t confirmed it yet, and that the producers have other projects as well:

We hope so. (…) The creators want to work on lot of shows. Anime is really popular, so there’s a lot of demand, and so we have to find the right time to get started on the next season.

Although he didn’t confirm anything, his statement makes it clear that Crunchyroll is looking at it and wants to continue producing the series.

What Do We Know About Solo Leveling Season 3?

While no one has officially confirmed that Season 3 has been greenlit,Solo Levelingproducers have recently addressed this issue. They first said that they need the support of the fansto produceSolo Levleing Season 3, but later Shota Furuhashi added that he would like to wait for the 2028 Olympics before talking about it - which soon led fans to believe that Season 3 will be released in 2028.

I think, more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting a Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics (2028) to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3. But I think that’s more up to Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.

However, Furuhashi’s statement should not be taken too literally. What he seems to be saying is thatSolo Levelingis demandingand that he wants more time to produce it properly, which is actually great news - they want the next season to be amazing and live up to expectations.

It could also be a possibility that they’re talking aboutreleasingSolo Leveling Season 3in a few years instead of the yearly schedule, and they could release something else between Seasons 2 and 3, even if it’s a compilation movie. Considering what Solo Leveling has become, it would be natural for Sony and Crunchyroll to want to bring it to the big screen.

So, while Season 3 hasn’t been officially announced, everything seems to indicate that they’re at least talking about it internally and maybe coordinating plans on how to proceed with the series from here on out.
