Following a leak in late 2024,Days Gone Remasteredwas officially announcedin February 2025, with developer Bend Studios confirming further enhancements for those on the PS5 Pro. The original game was released for the PlayStation 4 in April 2019, and despite being a first-party title, it was met with mixed reviews at launch, with many criticizing the action-adventure title’s numerous bugs and mission design. A sequel was eventually pitched to Sony, though this attempt was unsuccessful. Instead, players will soon be able to return to post-apocalyptic Oregon in a whole new way, withDays Gone Remasteredbringing with it tons of new options for every type of gamer.

In a newPlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, digs deeper into the many accessibility options that will be available inDays Gone Remastered. In terms of visuals, players will be able to select from 11 different subtitle colors, and a fully customizable High Contrast Mode will increase visibility throughout the title. The game’s audio has been fully revised and improved, withDays Gone Remasteredintroducing UI Narration and Collectible Audio Cues, with the latter helping to track down hard-to-find collectibles scattered throughout the world. These cues will also come throughthe DualSense controller’s speaker. Controls will be fully customizable, and gameplay can be slowed down or sped up depending on the player’s preference. Some of these accessibility features will also be making their way toDays Goneon PC.

Days Gone Remastered Will Be More Accessible and Customizable

Earlier this month, McAllister also commented onhowDays Gone Remasteredwill look on the PS5, stating that the improvements are “noticeable.” Improved shadow quality, increased lighting, enhanced fog depth, and larger hordes will make for an entirely fresh experience, along with the addition of new game modes. Notably, the Horde Assault mode will feature up to 800 enemies in one group.

PC players shouldn’t feel left out, astheDays Gone Broken RoadDLCwill be launched on Steam on April 25. This content will serve as the PC equivalent to the PS5 remaster, bringing DualSense controller support, an enhanced photo mode, and both Permadeath and Horde Assault modes.
