Summary
With an abundance of items available inDeadlock, it could be quite confusing to pick one, especially knowing how difficult players to earn Souls in the game. Trial and error, on the other hand, will be a time-consuming process to determine which item could pay off better.
While item suggestions are different from one hero to another, the list here mostly targets heroes that have powerful weapons with a fast fire rate and high DPS. Heroes like Haze,McGinnis, Seven, Wraith, Viper, Ivy, Infernus, Calico, Vindicta, and even Paradox can greatly benefit from these suggestions.
10Restorative Shots
Gain Health Through Shooting Enemies
Earlier in the match, it’s important to have proper healing. While losing the first blood to opponents does not give them a lot of Souls, but still loosens the defensive line against the Guardian, which should not be given away.
Items like Healing Rite or Extra Regen could be quite beneficial to restoring health rapidly, but those who want to double down on this part will find Restorative Shot quite useful, as it basically heals the player through attacking.
Restorative Shot has a 7-second cooldown after each use, but since earlier in the match players just shoot at each other from afar and don’t really take heavy risks, Restorative Shot turns into a good source of HP gain to avoid any earlier deaths.
9Monster Rounds
Boosted Weapon Damage On NPCs
There is nothing harder than farming Souls in the earlier minutes of aDeadlockmatch, and that’s when a cheap item like Monster Rounds comes in handy with 25% damage buff over NPCs, which allows the player to get rid of Troopers faster and buy some good items to push the enemies back, eventually attempting to take down the opposing Guardian.
Monster Rounds is a good investment with a fast pay-off without costing a lot, especially for those heroes who come with powerful weapons, like Wraith, Haze, Seven, Ivy, Viper, McGinnis, andVindicta.
The good news is that Monster Hunter is also an investment in the future. Later on, it can be upgraded to Cultist Sacrifice, which comes with higher NPC damage and an extremely powerful Active ability that helps a lot with farming Souls without waiting so much time in jungles.
8Titanic Magazine
Fire More Bullets From A Single Magazine
For heroes that heavily rely on their weapons, it’s of the utmost importance to always have enough bullets in the magazine to keep them longer in engagements, before they can find somewhere to hide and reload. Titanic Magazine delivers this at a decent price.
A whopping 90% increase in the magazine size is an invaluable upgrade for weapon-based heroes like McGinnis, Haze, or Wraith. When combined with other great items like Active Reload, the bullet availability goes even higher, helping the player to chase down enemies and take risky shots as well.
7Ricochet
Bullets Hit Multiple Enemies
As a Tier-4 item, Ricochet is one of those late-match purchases for the players, and it’s strongly suggested for heroes that possess a weapon with a high fire rate to allow them to keep shooting at enemies continuously.
What Ricochet does is that it duplicates bullets shot at one enemy and ricochets them off the primary target to any other opponent hero nearby, dealing a portion of the primary damage as well.
This item proves its value in chaotic battles where multiple enemies are around. With Ricochet, the player can shoot one target but damage multiple opponents.
Since the item does not apply to abilities, there’s no point in buying this item for heroes likeAbramsor Shiv, whose weapons shoot quite slowly with big dispersion rates.
Now, combining Ricochet with another item like Split Shot could be quite beneficial. Split Shot allows players to fire in multiple directions, and that simply means a higher target acquisition. Now, if the Split Shot manages to hit more than one enemy, it will also have multiple ricochets generated from those enemies, colliding the opponents repeatedly and dealing even more damage to them.
6Express Shot
Fire Powerful Rounds With Higher Velocity
Express Shot is one of those items that provides decent buffs but also requires a sacrifice. The item works interestingly. Whenever the player does not perform any attacks for 4 seconds, their next bullet fires twice with a 150% increase in damage and a 100% increase in Bullet Velocity.
However, the weapon uses 30% more ammo for this powerful shot, which could be easily compensated for by items like Titanic Magazine. To make this item even more deadly, players can combine it with a variety of other weapon items like Opening Rounds, Glass Cannon, or Hollow Point.
5Backstabber
Attack Enemies From Behind For Bonus Damage
It happens a lot inDeadlockwhen an enemy player loses so much health that they just turn around and run back to their base. It’s such a frustrating feeling to drain a big chunk of an enemy’s HP and then let an easy kill slip away with a few hitpoints.
Backstabber is designed for this specific situation. This is a Spirit-based Weapon item that activates when the player shoots an opponent from behind. Once the enemy is hit, Backstabber begins dealing periodic Spirit damage for 8 seconds. The good news is that Backstabber becomes available again after 4 seconds, which allows renewing the debuff on the enemy.
The only downside for Backstabber is that its damage doesn’t scale with Spirit Power, but it’s still a useful option to get rid of fleeing opponents. It’s worth noting that Backstabber also works with bullet-based abilities, such asHaze’s Bullet Dance.
4Burst Fire
Hitting Enemies Will Offer Weapon Buffs
Something that many weapon-focused heroes need is a higher fire rate, and Burst Fire delivers that with a side gift in a pretty decent manner. The item grants the player 45% of fire rate and a slight movement speed boost whenever one bullet hits an enemy hero.
The buff duration is 4 seconds, whereas the passive cooldown is around 7 seconds, but purchasing some Duration and Cooldown items could get these numbers quite close to each other, allowing players to continuously benefit from this buff as long as they successfully target their enemies with bullets.
3Fleetfoot
Remove Movement Penalty While Firing
Fleetfoot is a great early game item that removes one of the most annoying limitations inDeadlock. This item is almost essential for any hero, especially earlier in the game when players have not improved their character enough to gain some good movement speed buffs.
Whenever the player starts shooting inDeadlock, their character slows down in movement, which is called the shooting penalty. Fleetfoot entirely removes this limitation, allowing players to move while shooting with the same speed as regular movement.
Now, the item also possesses an Active buff, which gives a significant speed boost to the player for a brief moment. It’s quite beneficial when trying to leave the scene or chasing down an enemy, but the best part is still the passive buff that comes with Fleetfoot.
2Cultist Sacrifice
Easily Farm Creeps On The Map
The upgraded version of Monster Round is one of the best items to ever exist forfarming Souls from Creeps. Using this item, players can instantly kill a Creep of any level and gain 150% Souls from it, while also gaining a Fire Rate bonus, a Health bonus, and movement speed improvement for 3 minutes. This is by far the longest temporary buff that players can get from an Active item inDeadlock.
For any hero that doesn’t come with good enough abilities for jungling, Cultist Sacrifice could be a massive time-saver, though the cooldown for this item is 270 seconds, but it can be reduced by a good amount thanks to items like Superior Cooldown.
Aside from its Active buff, Cultist Sacrifice also increases damage to NPCs by 35%, which is a 10% boost compared to Monster Rounds.
1Capacitor
Deal Shock Damage And Slow Down Enemies
The upgrade to Tesla Bullets not only improves all the passive stats of its predecessor but also adds a powerful active ability that can turn any fleeing enemy into an easy prey for the players, especially when the opponent is outnumbered.
Aside from enabling Shock Bullets, which deal Spirit damage and jump from one enemy to another, Capacity’s active ability is a throwing projectile that, upon hitting a hero, slows them down by 100%, and this movement slow debuff recovers gradually. But it gets even better, as the projectile deals extra Spirit damage and also removes any buffs the target carries, except for buffs inherited from their Ultimate ability.
Capacitor’s projectile damage does not scale with Spirit Power, but it’s still a good damage dealer, and with massive movement slow, it can completely avoid any opponent from slipping away.
