Hawkmoon is solely a PvP weaponwith virtually no perks suitable for PvE. You could attempt to make it work by focusing on the Exotic trait and landing precision hits, but that’s not worth considering,at least for high-end content.

Hawkmoon has astatic perk in the second column, so you only need to look out for the other three.Hammer-Forged Riflingis a go-to perk for extra range, but Smallbore is also decent for a balance of range and stability.
The main perk for PvP in the third column isEye of the Storm. It grants handling and accuracy as your health gets lower. The main reason to pick it over Opening Shot is because of Hawkmoon’s Catalyst. Its perk, Hunter’s Trace, increases magazine size and grants increased reload speed, handling, and range based on the number of Paracausal Charge stacks.
Lastly, theSmooth Gripgrants more benefits without any drawbacks. You don’t need more handling from a Polymer Grip because of the Eye of the Storm, but you could opt for a Heavy Grip. Eye of the Storm offsets the handling loss on the Heavy Grip on top of additional handling from Paracausal Charge stacks.
How to Get Hawkmoon in Destiny 2
