Summary
Blizzard has made significant changes to Reputation gains in a hotfix toDiablo 4’s Season 8, just days after its release. The newDiablo 4update should alleviate some of the issues with the grind that players have been experiencing in Season 8.
Diablo 4Season 8 was released on April 29 to a heavily mixed response from players. The grind to reach theendgame content inDiablo 4 Season 8hasn’t gone down well with all players, and the same goes for the reduced number of rare items being dropped, especially in the early game. Despite the criticism ofDiablo 4’s new Seasonal offerings, it seems it hasn’t fallen on deaf ears, with Blizzard already acting fast to rectify the problems.
The patch notes for thenewDiablo 4hotfixhave made some massive changes to Reputation rates across various activities.Diablo 4’s World Bosseshave seen the biggest increase, going from 250 to 2,000 per kill. Defeating Lair Bosses will now earn 1,000 Reputation as opposed to the previous 750, while taking down Belial, Lord of Lies will now award 1,500 (up from 1,000). Blood Maidens have also seen a considerable Reputation boost, giving players 1,000 per kill from 250. Finally, regular Bosses now offer 750 Reputation per kill, a substantial increase from 250.
This increase will allow players to progress through their Seasonal Reputation board much quicker than before, reducing thegrind associated withDiablo 4Season 8. Among the short list of hotfix changes, it was also confirmed that Apparition Incursion Bosses have now had their health reduced, which should assist those who were previously struggling. While the mixed reception to the new Season is understandable, it’s good that Blizzard is making swift and radical changes to address the perceived issues.
Looking beyond Season 8, there should still be plenty moreDiablo 4to come. It was even recently revealed thatDiablo 4could come to the Nintendo Switch 2, which would be interesting if it came to fruition. Even despite the mixed reception to Season 8, players can expect more changes and fixes over the coming weeks to address even more of the problems that players are having with the new content.
