A new addition toDisney Dreamlight Valleycould change the landscape of the game. Traditionally speaking,Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas only added characters from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios, except forThe Nightmare Before Christmas. However, with the addition of newStar Warsitems in the Premium Shop thanks to the Wonderland Whimsy update, it seems that the game’s May the Fourth celebration could lead to granderStar Warscontent inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
The initial trailer for Wonderland Whimsy only revealeda few ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’sStar Warsitems, including a set of Jedi robes, a lightsaber hand accessory with an accompanying photo pose, and an R2-D2 droid Companion. New items have been added to the Premium Shop since this reveal, including the Naboo Villa Bundle which includes the titular Naboo Villa house Dreamstyle and accompanying themed wallpaper and flooring. Meanwhile, the Naboo Interior Furniture Bundle includes a holotable, bed, fireplace, table, chair, sofa, windows, and decor pillars, themed to the important planet.
Star Wars Animated Featuers are DDV’s Best Bet
With the addition ofStar Warscharacters inDisney Dreamlight Valleygrowing more possible, ironing out which characters would be the best fit for the game is incredibly important. WhileStar Warsnotably has many animated adaptations, the franchise is most known for its live action films and TV shows. This means that many iconicStar Warscharacters are inherently tied to the actors that portrayed them. Fortunately, several of these characters were featured in animated adaptations, making them the best characters to add toDisney Dreamlight Valleywhen aligning art styles.Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas been criticizedfor its character designs in the past, so it’s integral that Gameloft takesStar Wars’ animated properties into account.
This means a show likeStar Wars: The Clone Warswould work perfectly forDisney Dreamlight Valley. Additionally, picking out characters from the animated TV show that were originally featured in the live-action films would likely be more popular thanClone Warsoriginal characters. This means that C3PO, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and more could all easily be added toDisney Dreamlight Valleywithout an uncanny valley situation. Ahsoka may have debuted in theClone Warssub-series, but her standalone live action TV series has also primed her to be popular enough to beadded toDisney Dreamlight Valley.
There are other ways thatStar Warscharacters will likely be added toDisney Dreamlight Valley. The most obvious is Companions, as R2-D2 is already featured in the game as one. Smaller, cuter droids like BB-8 are obvious prime Companion material, but humanoid droids like C3PO would be much better as full-on characters. Other cute characters fromStar Warsare also suited to the Companion role, like Porgs. However, Grogu (Baby Yoda) is the mostobvious pick for a new Companion inDisney Dreamlight Valley. Merchandise for Grogu is available as far as the eye can see. In fact, one could argue that Grogu is one of the most profitable parts of theStar Warsfranchise currently, making it easy forDisney Dreamlight Valleyto capitalize on cuteness.
Characters fromthe originalStar Warstrilogyobviously deserve to be added toDisney Dreamlight Valleyif the game decides to featureStar Warscharacter additions. After all, nothing holds as tight a grip onStar Warsas the original saga. But when it comes to character additions, animatedStar Warsproperties areDisney Dreamlight Valley’s best bet. Of course, clothing and furniture items inspired from the franchise will likely also be added to the game if this recent drop proves to be profitable. Ultimately,Star Warsdoesn’t seem to be leavingDisney Dreamlight Valleyanytime soon, so players should keep their eyes and ears tuned for character additions from the franchise.
