Now, aD&Dplayer called RedcapPress shared the latest creation of their home game: an amazing moving battlemap with spinning clock gears. According to the DM, their party was about to fight inside a huge clock tower to stop a local crime lord, so they decided to prepare something special. The gamer ordered laser-cut gears and mounted them on a piece of scrap plywood, printing a grid and putting it over them, and the result was incredible. The post was incredibly popular with the community, obtaining over 25,000 upvotes from fellowDungeons and Dragonsfans.

D&D Player Creates Amazing Moving Clock Tower Battlemap

So far, 2025 has been a year of major changes for theD&Dcommunity. Back in April, for example,the creative director ofD&Dleft after 28 years at Wizards of the Coast. Chris Perkins was one of the most prominent figures in the brand, but decided to leave after the revised 5th edition ofD&Dwas released.

The same happened with Jeremy Crawford soon afterward. After being the lead creator forD&Dfor over 18 years,Crawford left Wizards of the Coast, also citing the shipping of the last revised5Ebook as the reason for his departure.

Despite these drastic changes in the leadership ofD&D, the year ispacked with amazing new products forDungeons and Dragonsfans. July will see the release of theDragon Delvesanthology of adventures, while the setting bookEberron: Forge of the Artificerwill come out in August. These releases will be followed by theHeroes of the Borderlands Starter Setin September, and an unknown book in October. On November 11, gamers will be able to purchase the Player’s Guide and the Adventure’s Guide for the popularForgotten Realmssetting, too.
