Summary

EA’s upcomingIron Mangame is said to have “major single-player levels” that gamers will be able to explore. Even before his big-screen revival in the MCU brought him increased mainstream exposure, Iron Man was a recurring fixture in comic-based video games like theMarvel vs. Capcomseries, and it was only a matter of time before the armored Avenger got a triple-A title of his own. Sure enough, EA announced anIron Mangame from Motive Studios, the developer behind 2023’sDead Spaceremake, in the fall of 2022.

Since then, there haven’t been too many official details from EA about its Iron Manvideo game, aside from it being a third-person action-adventure title being built with Unreal Engine 5. There are also plenty of rumors of the Iron Man game being an open-world title that could make great use ofTony Stark’s rocket-powered flight abilitiesand other skills. Indeed, flying is expected to be a key component of EA’s Iron Mantitle, and with that comes the question of how the game will handle exploration.

Iron Man Game Job Listing Screenshot

A new job listing from EA and Motive Studios might offer a clue, as pointed out by Reddit user OwnEquivalent4108 onr/GamingLeaksAndRumours. This listing calls for a Level Designer who would be tasked with creating “extremely fun, satisfying game levels” that align withMotive’s vision for its Iron Mangame. Another section of the listing notes that the candidate would have to “design and build major single-player levels,” and that one of the job’s qualifications is experience in designing and playing action RPGs.

Iron Man Listing Mentions Level Design And Action RPGs

This reference to RPGs could be a sign that Motive’s Iron Mangame could have some sort of character customization or leveling system, which would line up perfectly with howTony Stark is always adjusting and upgrading his armorin the comics and movies. As for level design, it still isn’t clear if the Iron Mantitle will be a full-on open-world game or feature semi-open environments likeStar Wars Jedi: Survivor.

As noted before, fans have heard very little aboutEA’s upcoming Iron Mangamesince its official announcement almost three years ago. It was once believed that it would make an appearance at the Game Developer’s Conference 2025 back in March, but this ultimately proved not to be the case. Only time will tell when EA and Motive will decide to show more of their Iron Manvideo game, and for now, eager fans will have to continue speculating on how Marvel’s genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist will be adapted into his next standalone interactive adventure.
