Aziawa’s Peer Who Grows To Become A Friend After Frosty Beginnings
MHA’spride and joy,All Might, Earth’s mightiest hero, receives all the acclaim and attention, much to the dismay of Aizawa. As teachers at U.A. High, the pair initially have a turbulent relationship, with All Might’s ever-positive attitude and lenient approach to his teaching methods going against Aizawa’s principles of enforcing a strict ideology with his pupils.
Despite their opposing views, Aizawa and All Might come to appreciate each other as Class 1A continues to be involved in eventful adventures, gaining a level of mutual respect that includes a willingness to buy each other a drink. At the same time, Aizawa shows care and consideration for his colleague after All Might retires from superhero endeavors.
6Eri
A Gifted Child Who Aizawa Oversees
The powerful but delicate youngEriendured a tough upbringingas a pawn in the Shie Hassaikai organization before being rescued by Midoriya and his comrades in a raid for the ages. Ever since Eri was freed, Aizawa has acted as the young girl’s guardian. Eri is housed at the U.A. High campus so Aizawa can oversee her development when utilizing her dangerous and complicated Quirk, Rewind.
While Aizawa is often viewed as void of emotion, Eri manages to bring a more pleasant side out of her guardian, showcasing a sweet surrogate father-daughter relationship that brings out the best in Eraser Head.
5Hitoshi Shinso
A U.A. High Student Who Aizawa Takes Under His Wing
From the jump,Hitoshi Shinsocatches the eye of Aizawa at U.A. High.Shinso’s Brainwashing Quirk sharessimilaritiesto Aizawa’s Erasure, two Quirks often associated with the role of a villain. Initially starting in the Department of General Education, Shinso’s drive and talent see him join the hero course students in their activities. Aizawa takes him under his wing, acting as his mentor, which is reminiscent of Midoriya’s relationship with All Might.
Besides their Quirks and mentor-mentee relationship, Shinso and Aizawa display reserved personalities. Aizawa finds that Shinso mirrors a younger version of himself and is eager to aid in his growth as a budding hero.
4Ms. Joke
A Long-Time Acquaintance Who Constantly Teases Eraser Head
While Aizawa may not acknowledge it, he certainly has a kinship withMs. Joke, a Ketsubutsu Academy High School teacher whoused to collaborate with Eraser Headin their younger days; their workplaces were even stationed near each other. Often found to be playful and flirty with Aizawa, Ms. Joke constantly pokes and prods her friend for any semblance of emotion when the pair reunite, while their students compete for their hero licensing at the Exam Station.
Despite their contrasting personalities, the pair’s long history makes Ms. Joke a friend worthy of respect, even if she can be an annoyance to Aizawa when they are together.
3Midnight
Friends Since Adolescence, Midnight Recommended Aizawa For A Role At U.A. High
A faculty member of U.A. High who has known Aizawa for decades is the boisterous teacherMidnight.The pair’s history goes back to their days as students at the school. Despite being in the year above,Midnight became familiar with Aizawa, interning at the same hero agency, and the pair shared grief over the death of their friend, Oboro Shirakumo. After becoming a teacher at U.A. High, Midnight recommended Aizawa for a position alongside him, believing the often reticent hero could help future heroes thrive. They have always gotten along as colleagues, despite Midnight’s exuberant behavior.
When tragedy strikes in the Paranormal Liberation War, resulting in Midnight’s passing, Aizawa is affected by his companion’s sudden death, but attempts to move on and offer support to his vulnerable students.
2Oboro Shirakumo
A Childhood Friend Who Tragically Becomes A Radical Villain
Before tragedy struck,Shirakumo, Aizawa, and Hizashi Yamada were thick as thieves at U.A. High, and planned on becoming triumphant heroes who would open their own hero agency. Shirakumo was always a pleasant and kind soul who attempted to uplift Aizawa and give him confidence, while Aizawa valued Shirakumo’s reassuring nature. While completing their hero work studies alongside one another, Shirakumo gifts his goggles to Aizawa, which later became an essential part of Aizawa’s hero kit when using his Erasure Quirk. Just before their hero careers got going, Shirakumo tragically perished while fighting a villain, later returning as All For One’s pet Nomu, Kurogiri.
The villainKurogiri, an expert in teleportation, becomes a needle mover in the fight between heroes and villains. While Kurogiri is captured, Aizawa and Yamada pour their hearts out to try and reach their former friend. They manage to find a glimpse of Shirakumo within Kurogiri, with the value of their friendship still resonating within the now corrupted antagonist.

A Loud-Mouthed Colleague Who Has Been Best Friends With Aizawa Since Their School Years
Among U.A. High’s various faculty members,Present Mic,otherwise known as Yamada, emerges as Aizawa’s best friend throughoutMHA.Their friendship stretches all the way back to their student days at U.A. High. In their youth, Yamada, Aizawa, and Shirakumo were close friends who intended to start a hero agency together, although Shirakumo’s untimely death cut their plans short. While they were students, Yamada coined the hero moniker Eraser Head, and the unusual name stuck for Aizawa.
Despite Yamada’s loud and outgoing personality contrasting with Aizawa’s mellow vibe, the pair have stuck together through thick and thin, growing up and working together. Their solidarity has grown even stronger after encountering Kurogiri, their former childhood pal, and witnessing his fall into villainy.
