The first character from Fontaine to be released after the finale of the Fontaine arc is Escoffier, an Ousia-aligned Cryo character who uses a polearm in battle. In theGenshin Impactstory, Escoffier is a chef who once worked at the Court of Fontaine’s famous Hotel Debord, but now runs her own restaurant. She’s extremely strict on precision and has a bit of a reputation for being a bit of a terror to work for, but also a gastronomic genius.
For players hoping to use Escoffier on their team, a few items will be needed to maximize her potential. Ascending Escoffier and leveling up her talents is going to require quite a few Fontainian resources, as well as a few trips to Natlan — which Escoffier herself often makes, as she usesVaresa’sfruits in her dishes.

Escoffier, like all characters, needs quite a bit of EXP and a small fortune in Mora to level all the way up to level 90. Here’s how that breaks down between ascension levels:

Escoffier Ascension Materials
Genshin Impact ascension materials typically require a trip to several different regions, depending on the character. Luckily, Escoffier’s ascension materials can be found in Fontaine for the most part, though some of them do have other sources as well. Where to Find All of Escoffier’s Materials
Gemstones - Where to Find Shivada Jade
As a Cryo character, Escoffier uses Shivada Jade to ascend. The Cryo gem can be obtained from a few sources, but the most reliable method is by farming boss rewards. The following bosses (and trounce domains) can drop Shivada Jade:
*Azhdaha and the Primo Geovishap can only drop Shivada Jade when they’re aligned with Cryo.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Beryl Conch
Until Escoffier’s release, it was onlyCharlottewho used Beryl Conch for ascension. Now, Escoffier uses it too. It can be found around Fontaine, especially underwater on the sides of ruins.

Boss Drop - How to Get Secret Source Airflow Accumulator
Following the release of theSecret Source Automaton: Configuration Devicein Version 5.1 is the release of another boss made from this ancient technology. It’s the Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device. It drops the item called Secret Source Airflow Accumulator, which Escoffier uses in her ascension.
This boss can be found in the far southwestern corner of Natlan, across the ocean from the Ancient Sacred Mountain. For tips on reaching this remote island and defeating this strange automaton, check out this guide:
Enemy Drop - Where to Find Clockwork Meka Gears
Continuing the theme of automatons contributing items for Escoffier’s materials, Clockwork Meka will drop the common enemy item she needs for both her ascension and her talents. These mechanized beings are found only in Fontaine, and at higher levels can drop better and better items.

Talent Books - Justice
The talent series Escoffier uses for her talent upgrades is the Justice series. These books can be obtained from the Pale Forgotten Glory domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Trounce Materials - Eroded Horn
A bit of time in Natlan is necessary for anyone hoping to maximize Escoffier’s talents. Her upper-level talent upgrades require the Eroded Horn, which only drops from the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire’s trounce domain, Stone Stele Records.
This domain is unlocked by completing the Natlan Archon Quest. However, for anyone who’s still a way’s out from doing that, there’s another option. Trounce domains can be faced with the new Quick Challenge feature, provided the player has reached AR 40. Unfortunately, this locks the player to challenging the domain in solo mode, so if you need help from other people, you’ll need to unlock this domain the normal way.
