While the site has taken these mods down quickly, the issue continues to plague the game and put players at risk.
More Viruses Found In Popular Schedule 1 Mods
The first set ofmaliciousSchedule 1modswere discovered in mid-April, just a few weeks after the game’s release. Popular mods, such as one that increased the item stack limit in the game, were found to include a trojan that could compromise the security of an individual’s PC. Now, one month on, members of the community are once again urging fellow players to avoid a handful of different mods. Numerous posts have appeared on Reddit over the last 24 hours, warning the community about the “Weather Effects” and “Manor Mod Plus” mods, as the two have been confirmed to include malware. Both mods have since been removed from NexusMods, but those who have already installed them are likely at risk.
Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring issue forSchedule 1players, as this is now the third time that multiple mods have been taken down. Just days after the first batch of mods were removed from the site, even moreSchedule 1mods were found to contain malware. “Just Enough Drugs,” a mod that adjusted that game’s user interface to allow for more efficient drug searching, was found to be malicious. Alongside this popular mode, the “Better Casino” mod was also found to include malware.
As with any game,Schedule 1mods are downloaded and installed at the risk of the player. It’s advised to proceed with caution when downloading mods, as they do not directly come from the game’s developer, TVGS. The good news, however, is thatSchedule 1continues to receive new content updatesthat are filled with improvements and fixes. While some players are turning to mods for new features, TVGS recently released a new mod that added a new storage property. The developer has also revealed that the next update will finally replace employee beds with lockers, something fans have been requesting since the game’s launch.
