Remedy’s next major title,FBC: Firebreak, has been confirmed to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S consoles on June 17th. The upcoming title represents a new approach from the studio behind theAlan Wakeand originalMax Paynegames, withFBC: Firebreakbeing Remedy’s first multiplayer co-op shooter.
The game’s setting, enemies, and perhaps several of its characters will no doubt be familiar to fans ofControl, but players new to the Remedyverse may be stepping into the paranatural confines of the Oldest House for the first time whenFBC: Firebreakreleases later this year. The game takes place after the events ofControl, and will involve players gearing up as members of the Federal Bureau of Control’s Firebreak response unit to clean up the remnants of the extradimensional threat. Though it doesn’t seem like players will bestepping into the shoes ofControlprotagonist Jesse Fadenthis time, they will get to wield a wide variety of unpredictable Altered Items as weapons in the first-person multiplayer shooter.

Beyond justthe well-timed release date forFBC: Firebreak, the game’s latest developer updatehas also given fans a much greater look at gameplay than ever before, showing off some of the new weapons, enemies, and mechanics. Players will get to build loadouts from tons of different weapons and paranatural objects, from giant wrenches to highly-explosive garden gnomes.
With Firebreak crews consisting of no more than three players, missions will have fans returning to familiar sectors of the Oldest House, while also introducing new areas to fight in. While described as a standalone game and story,FBC: Firebreakwill certainly give Remedy fans plenty to play with while also bridging thegap betweenControland its eventual sequel, which is confirmed to be in development.
