The South Korean developer will be following up on that release with another update, which is planned to debut on Thursday, May 15.The First Berserker: KhazanCreative Director Junho Lee recently provided an overview of the upcoming patch, confirming it will introduce not one but two separate boss rush modes—Great General’s Crucible and Berserker’s Bloodshed. Accessing either of them will require beating the main game at least once, with these upcoming additions thus being envisioned as expandingThe First Berserker: Khazan’s endgame.

Great General’s Crucible promises a highly curated experience through multiple thematically organized groups of bosses. This boss rush mode must be cleared using fixed, predetermined specifications—such as level, skills, and gear. While not every fight will have a single optimal strategy,The First Berserker: Khazanplayersare still expected to adapt to the scenarios Neople designed to test their flexibility and overall understanding of the game’s systems. Great General’s Crucible will offer a “special reward” for anyone who manages to beat it, Lee said, albeit without elaborating on what this incentive might be.

The First Berserker: Khazan’s Boss Rush Modes Are Meant To Be ‘Hardcore Difficulty’ Alternatives

In contrast, Berserker’s Bloodshed will feature a series of progressive boss fights with cumulative rewards that strengthen Khazan after each victory. This boss rush mode will offer set items and “powerful new weapons” as incentives for completion. Lee noted that Neople is especially interested in player reactions to the difficulty level of both Berserker’s Bloodshed and Great General’s Crucible. The creative director therefore encouraged fans to send “lots of feedback” after trying the new modes. Lee said both modes were envisioned as an alternative to having a “hardcore difficulty” in the game.

Thenew update forThe First Berserker: Khazanwill also make the Change Appearance feature more accessible. Players will now be able to use it from the very first playthrough, as soon as they complete the Blacksmith’s Heirloom mission. The update’s May 15 release date is tentative and could be delayed by a few days, depending on the outcome of Neople’s QA testing and platform certification. The South Korean developer has also shared an overview of the update that will come after, which is currently targeting a mid-June 2025 release.
