Fortnitehas come a long way since its release way back in 2017. It started as one of the battle royale games created to rival the popularPlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, but it has evolved into something much larger than that. While its gameplay remains mostly the same,Fortnitehas become the poster child for video game collaborations. Its latest crossover with Marvel Studios’Thunderbolts*is a testament to that reputation, as it came with some cool cosmetics and a fun mini tournament.

ThisThunderboltscollaboration is one of manyFortnite-Marvel Studios crossovers. It started with The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup, which let players transform into Thanos and gain extra powers and an improved health pool. The event was so popular that Marvel continued to turn toFortnitefor video game promotions for its mainline movie releases, with remarkable examples being theEndgame Limited Time Mode(Chapter One), Deadpool (Chapter Two), Spider-Man (Chapter Three), and the latestThunderbolts*bundle and BR Cup event in Chapter Six.

Fortnite’s Thunderbolts Collaboration Turns Marvel’s Newest Heroes into Comic-Style and Lego Cosmetics

TheThunderboltsare Marvel’s newest superhero team, consisting of what seems like a bunch of misfits and anti-heroes. It was recently revealed that this team isset up to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’sNew Avengers. Its cast contains some returning characters, like the villain-turned-hero-turned-congressman Bucky Barnes and the former Red Room operative Yelena Belova. Both characters feature as purchasable cosmetics inFortnite.

Bucky and Yelena Drop into Battle Royale With Pen and Ink Skins

Fortniteuses different art styles for its skins. Some of the anime cosmetics have cel-shaded styles to mimic their look in their respective shows. Meanwhile, some of the superhero skins feature a pen and ink style, which makes them look straight out of a comic book. The game started implementing this style during itsDeadpool and Wolverinecollaboration skins. This look was so well-received by fans that people started making fan art of their favorite Marvel heroes inFortnite’s pen-and-ink style in the hopes of getting a similar skin in the game. Some of them got their wish with the release of Winter Soldier and White Widow’sThunderbolt*collaboration cosmetics.

TheseWhite Widow and Winter Soldier skins also come with Lego versions, which look adorable. They also come bundled with other cosmetics, like:
