While it hardly compares to a proper alternate outfit, the community has nonetheless had a positive impression of Envisaged Echoes as a small cosmetic reward that any player can earn. However, with the introduction of a new endgame mode in Version 5.7, it would seem that HoYoverse is toying with the idea of adding weapon skins to the mix.
As explained by MadCroiX, the files for Version 5.7 imply thatGenshin Impactcould be adding a “change weapon skin” feature. This could mean one of two possible things: a system where players can change the appearance of one weapon to another, or a way to add new skins to existing weapons. Considering how many iconicSignature Weapons exist inGenshin Impact, it would probably make the most sense for HoYoerse to go with the first option.
Genshin Impact: How Weapon Skins Could Work
While it hasn’t been outright confirmed by the data, this weapon skin feature could be tied to thenew endgame mode inGenshin Impact. The reasoning behind his claim is simple: the reward for clearing the first three chambers is Primogems, the reward for clearing the next two chambers are Artifacts, but the reward for clearing the final chamber is unknown, with earlier leaks claiming that it would be a new type of reward. As for how this feature could be implemented inGenshin Impact, it would ideally allow many players to change the appearance of one weapon into something that better fits the color scheme of the character.
Even though Version 5.7 won’t come with a newmap expansion inGenshin Impact, it does seem to be setting up a lot of interesting concepts. Rumors point towards a new Dainsleif storyline in Version 5.7, as not only didGenshin Impactupdate his model, but it also added a party member icon for the former Knight Captain of Khaenri’ah. Version 5.7 is set to launch on June 09, 2025.
