When it comes to fighting games, players will often find a character they can really resonate with. Players will have a lot of choices to comb through inGranblue Fantasy Versus: Risingthanks to its large roster of characters. However, even once players find a character they like, this character might underperform compared to other characters being used.
This game is a directfollow-up to Granblue Fantasy Versuswith a lot of returning characters. However, there are new mechanics, and a lot has changed. So, characters that performed the best in the previous game may not perform as well inGranblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
Fighter Tier List for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
Most characters are solid choices and can hold their own against other players regardless of the characters they are using. These are characters that have made it into the B-tier. However, there are some characters that are just a cut above this and will see a more consistent win rate — especially in the hands of a skilled player. These are the characters that have broken the barrier into A-Tier.
Just like how there are characters that overperform, there aresome that underperform. While a B-tier character can still take down A- and even S-tier ones, C-tier characters will struggle to win games against skilled players using those placed in A- and S-tiers. S tier is reserved forcharacters that perform so well, they need a place of their own to show just how worthwhile it is to master playing them.
Percival, Katalina, Belial, Anre, Seox, Cagliostro, Narrmaya, Sandalphon
B-tier
2B, Metera, Soriz, Lowain, Ferry, Siegfried, Beelzebub, Luilius, Charlotta, Lancelot, Gran, Djeeta, Vaserga,
C-tier
Eustace, Zooey, Avatar Belial Avatar, Vria, Yuel, Nier, Ladiva, Vane, Vikala, Anila
While characters appear in a distinct order within each of these tiers, this positioning can differ wildly from player to player. 2B, in the hands of certain players, may bump up into A-tier. However, some players could struggle so much that she performs at the bottom of the B-tier.
S-Tier Fighters for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
Beatrix
Beatrix was added to the game in the Character Pass 1 paid DLC. Beatrix hasa lot of tricks up her sleeve. She has projectiles that can start slow and ramp-up, or launch fast-moving projectiles from the get-go. Players can also slow down her opponent with her Delta Clock.
Delta Clock can be used to chain into some of her most powerful combos, and players will need to master this ability to truly pull Beatrix into a league of her own. However, her 5/5 stars make this a challenging undertaking. Beatrix can end combos using abilities to adapt to whatever their opponent does and can shut down any playstyle from a poker totop-tier zoners.
Players using Beatrix can make a comeback rather easily thanks to her Delta Clock automatically triggering from heavy attacks when she has a third of their life left. However, there is a cooldown between automatic triggers.
Versusia
Alongside Beatrix, Versusia was alsoadded to the game in the DLCCharacter Pass 1. If her incredible range wasn’t enough, this character is great for newcomers looking to learn an easy character, and she becomes more and more deadly as players gain experience. She has a self-buff called Celestial Dominion that will be crucial for optimizing her kit.
Players may worry that needing to apply this risks opening them up to being punished more often. However, it should be treated just like using the ability to set up a combo. She is vulnerable to being rushed but is able to push back and pressure opponents to keep them at her most effective range.
Zeta
Zeta is an amazing character to be aggressive with. She can fire off a volley of strikes at alternating heights and can constantly apply pressure to players trying to keep their distance. The fact that she is a mid-range character means they are constantly trying to move back into her most effective range.
If a zoner gets out of her mid-range, she can fight them at their own game with beam attacks and then close the distance with her dash attack. She can also perform dashes in different directions from her initial dash to move right up to where her opponent is trying to escape.
Grimnir
Speaking of Zoners, Grimnir can be utterly devastating in the hands of a skilled player.Zoners are an iconic fighting game archetype, especially when they have a large arsenal. Grinir has plenty of projectiles to keep their opponents guessing how they will approach their next assault. These come in the form of fast, slow, and stationary spinning winds.
These winds can move in a straight line, curve after a short delay, or have it stop at the halfway point. All without any telegraphing. This means there is no place that is safe between Grimnir and their opponent.
