The second trailer forGrand Theft Auto 6is finally here, and one fan has spotted a small detail that many others missed, which may connect the upcoming title withRed Dead Redemption 2’s universe. While fans had previously believed that theGrand Theft Autoseries was set in a separate universe fromRed Dead Redemption, many are now questioning if that really is the case after a vital piece of information was spotted inGrand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer.

Fans have already discovered multiple references andeaster eggs inGrand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer, but one eagle-eyed viewer has picked up on a tiny detail that may have just connected the title toRed Dead Redemption 2. Reddit user cph2001 took to theGTA 6subreddit shortly after Trailer 2 dropped and shared their discovery with fellow fans. At 2 minutes and 7 seconds into the trailer, an NPC is making it rain $10 bills, which appear to include Presidents fromRed Dead Redemption 2. Both Thaddeus Waxman and Franklin Hardin, who were Presidents within theRed Deaduniverse, can be seen on the currency inGrand Theft Auto 6.

This discovery has sparked a huge debate among fans, as some believe it means the two universes are connected. Reddit userJhonny_781says they are “willing to cope” and believe thatGrand Theft AutoandRed Dead Redemptionare set in the same universe. However, not everyone is convinced that’s the case. Many other users believe this is nothing more than an easter egg asRed Dead Redemptionreferences New York and California, whereas theGrand Theft Autouniverse refers to these locations as Liberty City and San Andreas.

If previous Rockstar Games titles are anything to go by,Grand Theft Auto 6will likely feature a ton of different easter eggs and references toRed Dead Redemption,Bully, and more. Whether or not the references qualify as evidence that connects the universes remains a topic for debate.

Unfortunately, fans still have over a year to go until they can get their hands on the nextGTAgame. Last week, prior to the release of Trailer 2, Rockstar Games confirmed thatGrand Theft Auto 6had been delayed. The highly anticipated title was initially targeting a Fall 2025 release window, but as the months continued to roll by with no news, many had speculated that a delay was inevitable.Grand Theft Auto 6will now launch on Jun 27, 2025.
