Summary

The latest batch ofGrand Theft Auto 6promo materials appears to contain a pretty big Easter egg dedicated toManhuntcharacter Piggsy, as recently observed by one eagle-eyed netizen. While this discovery has fueled some fan speculation about whether Rockstar is hinting at the iconic character’s return inGTA 6, there’s also reason to believe otherwise.

As one of themost violent and controversial games ever made,Manhuntisn’t lacking in terrifying threats. Few characters underline that reputation better than Piggsy, a chainsaw-wielding lunatic wearing a pig’s head who’s unhinged enough to stand out even amongManhunt’s incredibly stacked villain gallery.

WhileManhuntwill turn 23 in November 2025, it would appear that Rockstar hasn’t forgotten about its grisly horror game, at least as far as Piggsy is concerned. YouTuber GTAVIoclock recently highlighted an illustration of Cal Hampton seated on a boat, part of thelatest batch of GTA 6 screenshots and artworkreleased in early May, which appears to show a Piggsy tattoo on his right leg. The tattoo seems to cover much of his shin and extends up to the knee, but is largely obscured by the boat hull, making it difficult to say with certainty whether it truly depicts the infamous character.

The GTA 6–Manhunt Connection Currently Seems Tenuous, At Best

The buzz sparked by GTAVoclock’s observation suggests someManhuntfans would welcome a Piggsy appearance in GTA 6, regardless of how it’s framed. But a tattoo alone is far from confirmation. Rockstar has a long-standing tradition of embedding Easter eggs in its games, most of which carry little to no canonical weight. By contrast, including anyManhuntcharacter inGTA 6would be significant, given that the original was definitively established as part of theGrand Theft Auto3D universe20 years ago. In other words, even if Piggsy were to appear in the flesh inGTA 6, he’d technically be a different character.

Rockstar has yet to officially clarify whetherGTA 6shares the same universeas its immediate predecessor, which itself inherited its continuity fromGTA 4. But what’s clear already is that the 3D universe was retired many moons ago, making direct crossovers between a classic likeManhuntandGTA 6unlikely.

As for why Cal Hampton would have a deranged serial killer tattooed on his leg, that’s not too unusual for Rockstar’s brand of character caricature. Based on what the company has revealed so far, Hampton may serve asGTA 6’s equivalent to The Truth fromSan Andreas—a paranoid eccentric with bizarre beliefs that add flavor to the game’s setting and social satire alike. For such a larger-than-life individual, a giant serial killer tattoo isn’t just plausible but fairly on-brand.
