Summary

Halo Infinite’s big new summer 2025 update is finally here, bringing with it a ton of new changes and upgrades players won’t want to miss, including a new battle pass. Alongside this new pass, players can also test outHalo Infinite’s newest weapon, the Mutilator, which blends the melee capabilities of the franchise’s iconic Gravity Hammer with the power of a shotgun. All this and more is now live inHalo Infinite, marking an exciting time for one of Microsoft’s main live-service titles.

Since its release in 2021,Halo Infinitehas undergone a number of changes and overhauls, with the game taking a seasonal approach similar to its live-service peers. Through various seasonal updates,HaloInfinite’s collection of weapons, maps, and game modes have all been expanded. However, this seasonal update cycle was dropped by developer 343 Industries, withHalo Infinitenow instead just receiving operation passes. This doesn’t meanHalo Infinitehasn’t received new content. In fact, the game just recently deployed its big new summer 2025 update.

When looking atHalo Infinite’s new update, several major pieces stand out, primarily the game’s newest weapon, the Mutilator. A cross betweenHalo’s infamous Gravity Hammer and a shotgun, the Mutilator packs a punch both figuratively and literally, allowing players to blast their way through enemies, but also use the front of the gun as a melee weapon. Operation Last Stand also includes a new battle pass, which is offered in both a free and paid version. Several new items, armor pieces, and other cosmetics can be acquired in the new pass, just like inHalo Infinite’s previous operations.

Halo Infinite Drops New Summer Update

Another big part of the update is a new variant of Firefight,Halo’s round-based survival mode, called “Battle of the Academy,” which introduces a new “linear” experience for the game mode. In this new Firefight mode, Iratus brings the Banished to the Spartan Academy facility, meaning it’s players' jobs to protect it and prevent the enemy from acquiring key intel. In addition, a new Mutilator Madness multiplayer playlist is now live, giving players a great way to get used toHalo Infinite’s newest weapon.

Halo Infinite’s new Last Stand Operation is live through June 10, giving players a little over a month to unlock the game’s new battle pass. More is in store as 2025 continues, though fans may already be looking aheadtoward the future of theHalofranchise, with several more games officially in development. This news was confirmed last year alongside the renaming of 343 Industries to simply Halo Studios. Developers also confirmed that newHalogames would be built using Unreal Engine 5, marking new territory for one of the most famous FPS franchises in history.
