TheHalofranchise has long been known for its unique armor designs. FromHalo: Combat Evolved’s Gen 1 Mark V Mjolnir powered assault armor toHalo Infinite’s Gen 3 Mark VII powered assault armor line,Haloplayers have been able to wear and customize a plethora of armor sets in several campaigns and multiplayer modes. While some customization options have been lost over the years, namely the ability to play as and personalize Elites, Halo Studios has striven to expand players’ armor options by reintroducing several classic armors inInfinite’s Operations. With many fans reacting positively to these classic armor sets, and to the new sets that are unique toInfinite, Halo Studios should strive to include all ofInfinite’s armor inHalo 7.

Halo Infinite’s New and Upcoming Armor Explained

With the debut ofHalo Infinite’s latest multiplayer Operation, Operation: Last Stand, Halo Studios has debuted a variety of new armor sets and reintroduced classic armors from priorHalogames. Within Last Stand’s Premium Operation Pass, players can unlock a Mark VII variant ofHalo 3’s EVA Gen 1 armor, a Mark VII variant ofHalo 4’s Raider Gen 2 armor, and Scarred Comet, an armor set inspired by Spartan-III Headhunter Jonah-B283 from the novel and animationHalo: Evolutions. Players can also purchase the Liberator armor, inspired by Spartan-III Headhunter Roland-B210 fromHalo: Evolutions, and the ORION IIC armor, inspired byHalo’s first appearance at the 1999 Macworld Conference & Expo.

On top of theHalo 3,4, andEvolutionsarmor,Halo Infinite’s community director, Brian Jarrard, and its senior community manager, John Junyszek, also teased other classic armor that will come in updates and Operations during the summer season. This tease came as part of the Summer Update Community Livestream, and it indicated thatHalo 3’s EOD, Rogue, Scout, and Security armorswill debut in the next operation, Operation: Legacy. It was also revealed thatHalo 4’s Fotus, Venator, and Wetwork armors will debut in the upcoming Operation: Reclaimer.

EOD will be Operation: Legacy’s free Operation Pass armor, while Venator will be Operation: Reclaimer’s free Operation Pass armor. The only Spartan armors based directly onHalo 3’s original multiplayer that are still not featured inHalo Infinite, and are not confirmed to be coming in upcoming Operations, are CQB, Hayabusa, Recon, ODST, and Mark V.

The Potential for All Halo Infinite Armor to Appear in Halo 7

With the content included in Operations Last Stand, Legacy, and Reclaimer,Halo Infinitewill feature a plethora of armor from every singleHalomainline game, and from several pieces of expanded media. WhileInfinite’s development may be dying down, Halo Studios should strive to bring all this armor into the next mainlineHalogame. For the first time in nearly 25 years, aHalogame gives players access to, at least, the most-popular sets of armor from every previous mainlineHalogame, and Halo Studios shouldn’t start from scratch with the next entry.

Instead,Halo 7,or even the rumoredHalo: Combat Evolvedremakeif it were to have its own dedicated multiplayer, could start out with all ofHalo Infinite’s armor already implemented into the game. This would ensure that fans of anyHalogame could outfit their Spartan with armor from their favorite entry straightaway, instead of waiting for Halo Studios to add the armor with a post-release update. If the nextHalomultiplayer is not free-to-play, Halo Studios could even reintroduce methods of unlocking armor viacompleting achievements or commendations. During the aforementioned livestream, Junyszek did note that players must earn several achievements and complete commendations to unlock Security and Venator in previous games, so Halo Studios may have these unlock methods in mind for the next mainlineHalotitle.

The only armor inHalo Infinitethat can be unlocked without purchasing it from the store or progressing through an Operation’s Pass, beyond the default armor cores, is Master Chief’sInfiniteMark VI armor. It can be attained by reaching the rank of Hero in multiplayer.
