The game was eventually ported to more platforms, launching on the Nintendo Switch and PC in January 2025. With a bigger crowd now playing, Sunblink is kicking off post-launch updates, starting with this first major content drop.
The Friends, Furniture, and Frozen Peaksupdate forHello Kitty Island Adventurehit Steam on April 29, with Sunblink originally planning a May 22 release for Nintendo Switch. In a surprise Twitter post, Sunblink launched the update on Switch on May 14. One of the key highlights of this update is the smoother, more rewarding way friendships grow. The gifting system now gives more friendship points when a gift has more hearts, making it easier to see progress with each item. Random or inconsistent reactions have been fixed too, so it’s more about crafting the right gifts.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s cabin decoratorsget a fun new option as well. Furniture stacking is now possible, with items able to be placed on top of tables in Edit Mode, opening up new ways to design and style interiors. The update also brings a new area to explore, Blizzard Peak and Snow Village, taking players back to Icy Peak with a brand-new storyline and a quirky weather machine that adds to the charm. For those who love a good puzzle, the Chilly Chambers offer icy sliding challenges that are both fun and rewarding. Meanwhile, Sparkles have been introduced as a new collectible that appears on their own schedule and can be traded in for game tickets.
There’s more to do around the island too, with Roseanne helping grow fluffy cloud flowers while Nina’s blooms thrive in tougher spots, and each type comes with its own unique effects. The floral Merry Meadows furniture set, earned through the Crane Game, adds a bright new look to any cabin. A new Call Friend feature makes it easier to bring companions along, and fresh faces have arrived, including Retsuko’s coworkers, Pekkle and Keroppi’s friends, and Hello Kitty’s grandparents. With new quests scattered throughout, this update brings more charm, more story, and morereasons to exploreHello Kitty Island Adventure.

Call Friend
Phone a friend (to join you!) – your tablet now has a ‘Call Friend’ function that lets you connect and companion together with Hello Kitty and Friends from anywhere on the Island.
New Visitors
Retsuko’s friends and co-workers are ready to visit Friendship Island for a well-deserved getaway! Pekkle and Keroppi have buddies and pals who will need cabins, too. And don’t forget to set up cabins for Hello Kitty’s Grandparents.
