Dungeons and DriversTakes Place In A Car-Based,D&D-Inspired World
Players ofDungeons and Driverscan choose from a variety of cars inspired by theclass system ofDungeons and Dragons. Each car class has its own strengths, weaknesses and abilities - for example, the Warrior car has a shield at its front that makes it nearly invincible to head-on damage, but it is vulnerable to attacks from the back. The Ranger wields a Vorpal Bow, the Tank possesses a Spiked Shield, and the Mage is, of course, a magic expert. As players explore the world and complete quests, they can unlock and upgrade weapons, armor, and abilities to better take on the wide variety of foes they will encounter.
Dungeons and Driversis divided into levels, with players needing to defeat bosses to progress to the next one. However, the game features much more than simply defeating each boss and proceeding quickly from level to level. Players can encounter dungeons that they can explore, filled with monsters to fight and treasure to uncover. In addition, random quests are scattered throughout the world. Completing these quests can lead to upgrading existing weapons and armor or perhaps unlocking new ones. Drawing once again from the game’sDungeons and Dragonsroots, the weapons can deal a variety of elemental damage, including fire, ice, lightning, and much more.
Fast-Paced “Bullet Heaven” Combat Is Reminiscent OfVampire Survivors
Dungeons and Driversdescribes itself as “bullet heaven,” a humorous re-interpretation of the “bullet hell” genre where enemies attack the player in droves and the player must drive them off with powerful ranged attacks from weapons such as firearms, bows, or magic-shooting staffs. The game’s combat draws inspiration from titles such asVampire Survivors,with enemies constantly attacking as players move through the world. Players must constantly focus on upgrading their weapons, armor, and attacks if they want to stay alive in the punishing world ofDungeons and Drivers.
AlthoughDungeons and Driversmay possess elements of the “bullet hell” genre, guns are far from the only weapons available for players to equip their cars with. LikeVampire Survivorsand other similar gamesbefore it,Dungeons and Driversallows players to choose from bows, staffs, magic missiles, and more. Some of the game’s more unique and bizarre weapons include the JawSlinga, a shark-shaped crossbow, and the BOOMerang, a sharp-edged boomerang powered by dynamite.
With online multiplayer allowing up to four players to team up and adventure together,it is possible to form a party wielding a wide variety of strange and wonderful weapons.
