One of the most frequent requests among theV Risingcommunity has been for a way to test Player vs. Player (PvP) builds without facing punishing consequences. While the game boasts an impressively deep combat system with countless spell loadouts, weapons, and ability combinations, experimenting with different strategies has always come with a steep price.

Players who wanted to try something new had to risk their gear, time, and durability in live combat, often against unpredictable enemies. However,V Risingnow features a game-changing update. Two new systems have been implemented, giving players the perfect way to sharpen their skills, test new builds, and engage in thrilling PvP, all without sacrificing their hard-earned progress:DuelingandArenas.

V Rising Dueling Banner

How to Duel in V Rising

An exciting feature in the 1.1 updateforVRisingis afree-form dueling system, designed to let Vampires challenge one another in open-world combat, without the usual consequences. With this system, players can initiate one-on-one battles against fellow Vampires anywhere on the map byplacing a Dueling Banner, aside from select locations like Points of Interest where boss encounters or critical events take place.

Players mustdefeat Rufus the Foreman, a level 20 V Blood Carrier, to unlock the Dueling Banner.Once a duel begins, the game enters a controlled state where both participants fight until one reaches zero health. At that point, the duel concludes, and both players have their HP restored to the values they had before the match started. There’s no gear damage, no durability loss, and no risk to inventory.

This addition serves as an ideal tool for players looking toexperiment with different spell loadouts, ability rotations, or weapon combinations in a live setting. It’s also a great way to practice dodging, improve reaction times, or engage in friendly competition between clanmates.

Importantly, the dueling system is also built with balance in mind.Anydamage taken from outside enemiesduring the fight still applies normally. This ensures that players can’t exploit duels as a way to avoid death or escape tricky combat situations. The game intelligently tracks which damage comes from duel participants and which doesn’t, preserving the integrity of the broader world.

V Rising Arena Station

While duels are open to the world, they aren’t protected from outside interference.Players hoping for uninterrupted fights are encouraged to pick secluded locations where interruptions are unlikely.Aside from a little lost pride, there’s nothing on the line, making dueling the perfect opportunity for learning and experimentation inV Rising’s ever-evolving PvP scene.

How to Build Battle Arenas in V Rising

In addition to the free-form dueling system, theV Rising1.1 Update introducedArenas.Unlike duels, which can take place anywhere in the world, Arenas provide players with a designated area within their castle where organized matches can occur. This new feature allows players to define the boundaries of their combat space and set the parameters for the fight itself.

To make this possible, players will be able to build anArena Station, a new structure that serves as the centerpiece for the arena.Players can unlock the Arena Station blueprint bydefeating Gaius the Cursed Champion(Level 55).Gaius is found inside theDunley Farmland’s Colosseum.

This station allows players to manage various aspects of the match, including team assignments.Using flags, players can choose to form different teams, creating opportunities for team-based combat in addition to the standard one-on-one duels.

Whether it’s a 2v2 match, a larger team battle, or even chaotic free-for-alls, Arenas offer a way to engage in PvP that’s both competitive and highly controlled.Players can configure match settings through the Arena Board, determining things like:

Much like dueling, the Arena system ensures that all participants are reset to their original health values after each match.

Once the match begins, players are in a temporary downed state when their health points drop to zero, but they can opt out of the contest if they choose. As soon as all members of one team are defeated or removed from the fight, the match ends, and the winning team is declared.
