Alongside the main quest, you’ll also find plenty of optional side quests that offer unique rewards to help you get stronger.
The Demineur quest is one such early-game side activity that you canfind while exploring Flying Waters, but sinceClair Obscur: Expedition 33doesn’t provide objective markers or maps, it’s easy to miss if you aren’t checking every corner. To begin the Demineur quest, you need to progress the story until you reach the Flying Waters region. Afterreuniting with Maelleand reaching the Noco’s Hut rest point, move forward until you arrive at a large open section. Instead of continuing straight, take the path to the right.
At the end of the path, you’ll spot a circular opening to your right. Head through it to find a white Demineur NPC. Unlike the hostile Demineur enemies you’ve encountered, this one remains passive, and interacting with it presents three options:
Choose “Examine” to note that the Demineur is missing the Underwater Mine that others of its kind carry. Your goal now is to find and return anIntact Mineto complete the quest.
If you choose to attack instead, you’ll initiate a boss battle. Defeating the Demineur this way gives you 3xColour of Luminaand 1xChroma Catalystbut locks you out ofthe unique weapon reward.
How to Find the Intact Mine in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Finding the Intact Mine is pretty straightforward. After your initial interaction with the Demineur NPC, you’ll notice several platforms nearby. Jump across them to reach a clearing. From there, look south to spot a faint purple glow.
Head toward the glow by jumping onto a rock formation on the right. Follow the path, and after two more jumps, you’ll reach an item. This is the Intact Mine.
If you happen to fall, a climbable wall nearby lets you return to the area quickly.
With the Intact Mine in hand, return to the Demineur and turn it in. You’ll receive the Level 3Deminerimweapon for Lune as a reward. At this point, you can still choose to attack the NPC to trigger the optional boss battle and earn additional loot.
