Followers and companions are always tied to specific quest chains, and once those quests have been completed, players can speak to the NPCs listed above to recruit their services. The companions in Oblivion Remastered are a tad basic and can’t do much outside of taking enemy aggression and getting themselves into fights, as they cannot carry gear. Followers cannot level up, nor can they have their armor and weapons changed or repaired, making them a tad useless in the endgame.
