There are various shrines scattered around the map ofThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, and most of them offer a side quest to players, usually requiring a high level but granting valuable rewards. The quest for Hircine’s Shrine is one that you don’t want to miss.
This is not going to be an easy quest, as the player will be tasked with taking down some tanky animals as a hunter to prove their skills. Still, the final reward is well worth the difficulty. For those struggling, here’show to complete the Hircine quest inOblivion Remastered.
How To Start The Hircine Quest In Oblivion Remastered
Before going any further, do note that theHircine’s Shrine quest can only be completed once the player’s level is 17 or higher. you may stillacquire the quest at any level, but progressing through the mission is tied to the character’s level.
The shrine is located south of Imperial City. Head there and talk to the NPC namedVajhirasitting on the chair. When she asks whether you are a hunter or a prey,respond with “Hunter.“This will activate the quest, and your first mission is to deliver either a wolf or a bear pelt.
How To Get Wolf Pelts In Oblivion Remastered
Wolves are pretty much all over the place inOblivion Remastered. You can find them lurking inThe Great Forestwest of Imperial City or thenorthern, snowy regions.
If you’re looking for a place with plenty of wolves, it’s highly recommended to visit theRed Ruby CaveorFrostfire Cave. They are both pretty close to each other, located southeast of Bruma, as shown on the map.
These caves are full of wolves. Clearing Red Ruby Cave alone can net you over 20 wolf pelts.
How To Get Bear Pelts In Oblivion Remastered
Unlike wolves, bears are rare animals inOblivion Remastered, and it’s quite difficult to find one without spending hours exploring the map. Also, do note that bear variants that drop bear pelts will not appear on the mapuntil you reach Level 7 at least. Below this level, you can only find West Weald Black Bear as well as West Weald Brown Bear, both of which never drop pelts upon death.
Bear variants that drop pelts will not appear on the map until the player reaches Level 7 or higher.
One guaranteed place to find a bear is theMuck Valley Cavern, located southwest of Cheydinhal. There is a black bear inside the cavern that will grant the player a bear pelt upon death.
However, if you are looking for more bear pelts, and your level is below 7, it’s just easier tobuy them from merchants. There are plenty of merchants in the game that sell bear pelts. Here are some:
Each one of these stores sells up to 5 bear pelts, andthey restock within 3 in-game days. There are multiple quests inOblivion Remasteredthat will require the player to get 20 bear pelts, and these merchants can get the deal done for you, thoughplenty of Gold coins will be needed, as each pelt costs 58 coins. Still, you can lower the price a little bit byincreasing the merchant’s dispositionand haggling.
How To Complete The Hircine Quest In Oblivion Remastered
After delivering a pelt to the shrine, the player will be tasked withkilling a Unicorn. This is going to be a tough fight, as the Unicorn is quite tanky, and there are Minotaurs around it. So, players will need to come prepared.
After killing the Unicorn, loot its horn and deliver it to the shrine. This will wrap up the quest and reward the player with theSavior’s Hide gearset.
