Regarding side quests inThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, sometimes they are chained together, and unlocking one quest depends on completing another. This is also the case with Sins of the Father, a fairly easy quest with valuable rewards that are not available right off the bat.

Before you can unlock Sins of the Father, there are two other side quests to complete. And regarding how they activate access to Sins of the Father, many players might not even notice how things are intertwined with each other.

How To Get The Escutcheon Of Chorrol Shield

After obtaining the sword, you have two different choices to make to end the quest. Once inside Chorrol, you will realize that two different markers are available for the quest.

The other path you can take is todeliver the sword to the Chorrol Castle. Originally, the sword did not belong to Fathis, and he had ordered Albert Jemane to steal it for him. So, if you want to return the sword to where it belongs, you should give it to the castle.

Head inside the castle and talk to the man namedWavrick. Hand over the sword to him, and he will reward you with theEscutcheon of Chorrol shield.

The good news is thatthe shield is worth over 4,000 coins. So, even if you don’t like the shield, you’re able to still earn more coins by just selling it than giving the sword to Fathis.

Now, the final part of the quest will task you to talk to the Jemane brothers and let them know of their father’s wrongdoings. Being a hothead, Reynald will reject what the player says, but if you have given the Honorblade to the Chorrol Castle,Guilbert will indeed believe your wordsabout his father’s past, rewarding you with4x GrandSoul Gemsas the final reward of this mission.
