AlthoughThe Precinctis all about chasing down criminals and arresting them, the game is open-world, and it rewards players for exploring every inch of Averno City. There are some hidden collectibles available on the map, and they can be quite interesting for trophy hunters and completionists. There are different types of collectibles inThe Precinct, and artifacts are one of them. These collectibles should actually be more familiar to players, especially since the game itself helps them find the first of many artifacts in the city during a mission in the tutorial phase.
Just before starting the hunt, we strongly recommend youpick a24-hour custom shift, so that you can collect all the artifacts before your shift comes to an end. Collecting each artifact adds 250 XP to the player’s tally, and dedicating a full shift to them willreward you with5,000 XP, which is not bad at all. Last but not least, note that the artifacts will be randomly distributed between safeboxes. This means that each player will get a different artifact from the same safebox. However, the codes remain unique to safeboxes.
The map crosshair in each image for each artifact showcases the exact location of the safebox.
Artifact 1: Story Mission
For the first artifact, you don’t really need an address. It’s a linear mission earlier in the game, and the location will be marked for the player automatically. The only thing you may need is the code to open the safebox, which is quite easy in this case.
Artifact 2: Northern Springwood
Springwood is a narrow street with two artifacts located in the northern and southern neighborhoods of it. The one in the northern part is next a tiny ramp located next to the L-shaped building on the northeast of the neighborhood.
Artifact 3: Southern Springwood
The safebox in the southern part of Springwood is on top of a tall apartment. You will need to head inside the alley between the two southern buildings in the neighborhood, and you will find a ladder attached to the emergency staircase. Climb up, and the safebox is on the roof.
Artifact 4: Litchfield
This one is the closest safebox to the precinct. Just go south from the police station, and you will find the safebox across the street next to an orange apartment. At night, a few people lurk around this area. They could serve as good targets for investigating and maybe earning some more XP.
Artifact 5: Chinatown
Chinatown is a crowded location full of criminal activities, and it also hosts a chest high on top of the building next to the torii gate. You will find the ladder on the southern edge of the building, and the safebox is sitting on the roof.
Artifact 6: Northern Boddicker Yard
For this one, you will want to take a trip to the western district of Averno City. On the southern highway, you will find the Boddicker Yard with a bunch of square-shaped apartments. The safebox can be found on top of the building that sits on the crossroad between the highway and the narrow street passing through Boddicker Yard.
Artifact 7: Southern Boddicker Yard
While at Boddicker Yard, check out the southwestern part of it for the next safebox. There is a rectangular-shaped building in this area that overlooks the Warhurst neighborhood. You will find the safebox sitting next to the southern wall of the apartment.
Artifact 8: Brookhaven
Going back to Eastern Averno City again, Brookhaven is a district located in the northeast of the city. At the marked location, you will find a parked trailer, and the safebox is placed just next to it.
Artifact 9: Haddonfield Point
The southern corner of the city is where the next safebox is located. Haddonfield Point has a beautiful fountain that is visible from the highway. The safebox is located next to the fountain, andthe riddle for it can be found on the tree behind the fountain.
Artifact 10: Lacoima Bay
Between the West Bay Bridge and Lacoima Bridge, you will find Lacoima Bay sitting on the northwest corner of Eastern Averno City. There are a bunch of parked trailers in the area, and the safebox is located next to the trailer hugging the corner.
Artifact 11: Serenity Park
Serenity Park is such a beautiful area in Western Averno City. It’s worth paying a visit to this location just for a relaxing walk, but you’re able to also collect an artifact here. You can find the safebox between the two buildings located in the southern part of the park.
Artifact 12: Jonasville
A narrow street passes through Jonasville, and if you pull over near the middle of the street, you will spot tall yellow stands blocking the path into the northern part of the neighborhood. There is a ladder behind those stands that leads to the safebox on the roof.
Artifact 13: Ramona
Ramona is located south of Lacoima Bay. The area has multiple trailers parked around and a small building in the middle. The safebox is located just on top of this white building.
Artifact 14: Southern Bayside Strip
This one is located at the entry of Lacoima Bridge to Western Averno City, or the southern part of Bayside Strip, to be more accurate. You will need to follow the ledge near the buildings until you find the entrance door of the apartments on the eastern side, which is where the safebox is located.
Artifact 15: Northern Bayside Strip
In the same area, follow the ledge to the northern corner of Bayside Strip, and you will find the next safebox sitting on the corner.
Artifact 16: West Bay Bridge
After entering Western Averno City from West Bay Bridge, take a turn to the right, and you will find a repair station. The safebox is on the roof, but the ladder is located on the southern wall of the building.
Artifact 17: Dutch Exchange
There are five buildings in the Dutch Exchange, and the safebox is sitting on top of the building located at the northeast corner. It has a big black garage door, which is where the ladder is located.
Artifact 18: Carlito
South of the Dutch Exchange, you will find the small district of Carlito. The safebox can be found next to the building on the eastern edge of the district, with a wall painted in black and orange.
Artifact 19: Slipwater Yard
Slipwater Yard is a lengthy port, and there is a lone red trailer near the southern part of the area. The trailer is parked within a fenced area, and the safebox is located at the corner of the fence.
Artifact 20: Carver Port
The final artifact can be found in Carver Port. There are many trailers in this area, so verify to go exactly to the location shown on the map. You will find a blue port crane at the location, and the safebox can be found next to the trailers near the crane.
How To Get The “A Sharp Mind” Trophy/Achievement In The Precinct
The final artifact will always be a golden ring. Once you find it, Kelly will tell you to report it to the station. Now, whenever you get back to the precinct, you will find a yellow marker in the room next to the chief’s room. Head there and talk to Spencer to complete this quest.
