Warhammer 40K: Boltgunhas a story mode and Horde Mode. While the story mode will slowly have youunlocking new weaponsand seeing the story of your lone Space Marine unfold, Horde Mode lets you focus purely on killing heretics.

Horde Mode takes place in a much smaller area than those found throughout the story, though the sheer focus on just combat makes it just as entertaining. The only snag some players may come across is that waves of enemies won’t start spawning; here’s how to start Horde Mode.

How To Start Horde Mode In Warhammer 40K: Boltgun

New rounds, including the first one, must be manually started. To begin the first round and make enemies start spawning, head straight from the spawn point and into the main room. Immediately take a left and go up the stairs to reach the second level. At the top of the stairs, look to the right and walk through the open container before immediately turning right. Just ahead will be theBoltgun, your first weapon in Horde Mode, and picking it up will start the first round.

Before the first round starts, afew small enemies may spawn if you explore the room, and you’ll only have the Chainsword available unlessyou’re using cheatsto give yourself every weapon. These enemies will mostly be very weak and can easily be killed, so take this time to explore the room and familiarize yourself with the environment, along with picking up tons of ammo, health, and Contempt.

How To Start A New Round In Warhammer 40K: Boltgun

After finishing a round, enemies will stop spawning until youreturn to the place where you got the Boltgunand pick up the new weapon. A new weapon will be given with each new round early on, with this also giving the player control of when each new round starts. Unlike the first round, stronger enemies will start to be found between waves or will be left over from a previous wave, making it more dangerous to just explore normally.

This game rewards players for killing enemies, as dead enemies have a chance to drop the following:

With that, you’ll want to be quick in starting new rounds, as that’s your best bet for getting more supplies. The naturally spawning supplies in the main room of Horde Mode will eventually run out, and constantly fighting new enemies will be your only way to get restocked.
