The Thieves Guild requests the aid of the Hero once more inOblivion Remastered, and this time, it’s time to start a new quest chain that starts with stealing a rather elusive (and often buggy) ring. Ahdarji’s Heirloom can be an interesting Thieves Guild quest inOblivion Remastered, but also one that causes quite a bit of grief due to the bugs presented and the many ways to get the ring itself.

It’s always worth doing the Thieves Guild quests, for not only are they extremely fun and interesting to those who love stealth, lockpicking, and pickpocketing, but they also provide the gateway to one of the most interesting quests involving the Gray Fox.

How to Start the Ahdarji’s Heirloom Quest in Oblivion Remastered

to start the Ahdarji’s Heirloom quest, players must have fenced a total of 200 gold. Once accomplished, players can visit S’Krivva in her house in Bravil, who will act as the player’s Doyen. Speaking to S’Krivva, players will be able to select the dialogue option for Special Thieves Guild Jobs, where the first one they will receive will be that of Ahdarji’s Heirloom.

With Ahdarji’s Heirloom now active as the primary quest, speak with Ahdarji, who can be found in Leyawiin. Ahdarji is located at the Five Claws Lodge at midday and at the Three Sisters' Inn during the evenings, and players can speak to her to begin the quest, which involves questioning an imprisoned Argonian.

How to Question Amusei in Oblivion Remastered

After speaking with Ahdarji, she will let players know that the ring’s thief, Amusei, has been locked up in Leyawiin Castle’s prison. Simply head through Leyawiin Castle into the prison area, and speak to the guard who can be bribed for 20 Gold. The guard will let players speak to Amusei, where they can find answers on the ring, but only in exchange for a lockpick so that Amusei can escape. Although Ahdarji asks players to kill Amusei, they can’t, and shouldn’t, as he will play an important role in a later Thieves Guild quest.

It’s at this point in the quest where players should return to Ahdarji and tell her of Amusei, as this should hopefully prevent a bug later in the quest where the ring does not spawn.

How to Steal Ahdarji’s Ring in Oblivion Remastered

After returning to Ahdarji to tell her of Amusei, she will promise to double the reward for the ring, which will net players 200 Gold at the end of the quest. Now, it’s time to actually steal the ring. The first thing players should do is find a beggar in Leyawiin, who, when bribed, will tell players about a hidden torture chamber for Argonian prisoners in Leyawiin Castle. After which, head into Leyawiin Castle and use theDisposition’s Persuasion Wheel mechanicto speak to Hlidara Mothril, the Countess' personal assistant, to raise Disposition to 70. Now, ask Hlidara about the dark secrets in Castle Leyawiin and the recovered Caro family ring.

Players now have a way to steal the ring, as Hlidara informs them that the Countess will put her ring in the lockbox in her bed chambers, and said bed chambers can be accessed via a secret torture chamber. Now, wait until 1 AM (so long as it’s not the 15th, 16th, or 17th day of any month). Now it’s 1 AM, head into the Castle Leyawiin Basement and activate the lever found with a barrel to open a secret passageway. Players can then head through the torture chamber to find another secret lever to access a door to the private chambers. It’s at this point where players should remove their clothes and weapons, asstealth is requiredto avoid the one guard that patrols the area.

Once players are in the bed chambers, take an immediate left to the Countess' room, where both eh Count and Countess will be sleeping. To the right of the bed is a lockbox that contains Ahdarji’s Ring. If players are struggling topick the lock, then the Count and Countess have a key, but save beforehand, as trying to loot them might wake them up.

With the key acquired, head out the way you came through the torture chamber to avoid detection, and then return the ring to Ahdarji for 200 Gold. Now, players can return to S’Krivva for an additional 200 Gold, along with the Prowlerrank in the Thieves Guild, and their next mission.
