V RisingInvaders of Oakveilbrought many changes to the game, with a new area, enemies, bosses, spells, andweapons. TheTwinblade,Throwing Daggers, andClawsare the new additions to the player’s vampirical arsenal in this hack-and-slash survival game.
With some incredible combos and skills, these weapons havegreatly affectedV Rising’s meta, so it will be great for players to familiarize themselves with their properties. For those wondering where to get these new weapons, this guide will cover everything they need to know to get their hands on these new weapons, as well as information on their skills, optimal builds, pros, and cons.
How To Get The Twinblade In V Rising
TheTwinbladewill be the first new weapon players can obtain while exploring theDunley Farmsarea. They need to defeatGaius the Cursed Champion, who will be located at theColosseumPOI. The Colosseum was previously a social area for the players who wanted to enjoy a little PvP, but now, it becomes an actual arena when players approach and interact with thegreen bannerin the middle of the circle.
To beat Gaius, players will have to face him insidea shrinking circlethat creates adeath zone. Outside of the zone, players will receive increasingperiodical damageuntil they die, and Gaiuscan kick them out of the circleusing his leap attack. Stick close to the center of the arena and face Gaius head-on, making sure to cause him as much damage as possible.
Gaius can sometimes getstuckin thescenarioafter performing his leap attack, which will cause his health to reset. attempt to fight far from the borders of the arena to prevent thisbugfrom happening.
Ranged weapons are a bad idea, since the second the player gives him enough space, he will use his dash and push attack to kick them out of the arena. Instead, use spells likeFrost Shield, or Cursed Shieldto fend off most of his attacks, then hit fast and heavy using weapons that cause lots of damage, like theAxes, or theSpear.
Once players slay this foe, they will be able tounlock the Twinblade, which has the unique property to performdouble-hit attackswith each part of its combo. It has a moderate attack speed, and two powerful skills:
Deadly andwith great reach, paired with itsmobility/cc combo, the Twinblade is one of thetop 5 best weapons inV Rising. The meta has been considerably altered by its introduction to the game, and those looking to have success in PvP should consider adding this weapon to their main build. The onlyproblemwith the Twinblade, is that itdoesn’t cause as much damageas other meleetwo-handed weaponslike the Mace or the Great Sword.
Since the Twinblade has moderate attack speed, pairing it withChaos SurgeorBlood Ragecan compensate for its slow attack pattern. Its semi-circular combos have a lot of reach, and allow the players to harass their rivals and keep them at bay using its powerful crowd control kit. UseStorm Veilto gain even more attack speed, orChaos Veilto add an extra AoE explosion each time it hitsburningenemies.
How To Get The Daggers In V Rising
TheDaggerscan be obtained by defeatingBane the Shadowblade, who often roams around Dunley Farms' roads following a circular path that starts atDunley Monasteryand goes up toDawnbreak Village, and then north toBastion of Dunley. Bane will behiddenas a ‘traveler’ wearing a cloak, which is the standard model for the’Human' disguisepower. There will be many decoys similar to Bane, but the right way to find it is bytracking his V Blood. That way, players will know which is the real one. Bane often spawnsnear the northern Waygate, so keep that area in check if he doesn’t appear in the southern area of Dunley Farms.
When players attack Bane, the battle will begin, and he will attack everything on sight. Keep the distance and useCrossbowsandBowsto chip away at his health. UseChaos ShieldorCursed Shieldto reflect damage or summonSkeletonsto keep him busy. Once Bane uses his ‘disguise trap power,’ players need to aim atthe decoy that is not facing them and glows with a purple mist. The rest of the cloaked decoys will be traps that will summon skeletons if destroyed.
Bane can be cheesed by using Range weapons, but beware: If players go too far from thestarting pointof thefight, he will flee combat andresethishealth.
Keep causing damage, evading his doppleganger dagger throw attack, and moving away from its roundhouse AoE sweep, and he will be dead in no time. Bane is not an excessively hard boss, but watch out for enemy players (if its a PvP server) since there’s a chance they might drop mid-fight to claim either bane or the player’s loot.
Once players defeat Bane, they will receive theDaggers’blueprint. Once crafted, they will be able to toy with their particularly effective passive, whichstores 4 daggersevery few seconds without attacking, and then throws them in quick succession. Its second passive makes daggersbounceand falloff targets, thenremain on the ground. Here are the Daggers' abilities:
The Daggers aremid-range weapons, similar to the Pistols and Whip, but with a focus on mobility as their primary goal. Hit-and-run tactics, then call the daggers for maximum damage output, is the way to go with this weapon. Its onlydrawback
Daggers benefit mostly fromAttack SpeedandMove Speedbuilds. A mobility player usingStorm Veilwill have their attack speed increased, or they can useVeil of Frostto apply chill with the dagger’s attacks, causing slow on enemies and priming them for a powerful barrage when Release Daggers is activated.Frost NovaandFrost Batare alsogood options for this build. Daggers can also melt down bosses in a matter of seconds, so they’re a great PVE tool.
How To Get The Claws In V Rising
TheClawsare the third and final weapon players will be able to unlock, and they will have to faceFrostmaw, one of the most dangerousmid-game bosses in Vardoran. He can be found roaming around the Hallowed Mountains. Once players enter combat with this creature, they should make sure no one is around, since Frostmaw can summon a powerful blizzard that obscures vision and makes it impossible to see outside of the combat zone.
Frostmaw can alsodashat incredible speed, clawing at the player andfreezingit in a couple of hits, which will most likely be followed by a powerfulfrost breath attack.Fighting it at close range is a bad idea, but players won’t be safe using Crossbows, Daggers, or Bows either, since this creature uses anIcicle attackthat is cast in a cone pattern. Icicle shards can freeze players on hits, but they can be avoided byblocking themwithstructures(rocks, trees, etc.) orusing Shield Spells(Chaos Shield, Frost Shield, Cursed Shield).
When Frostmaw calls forth the snowstorm, he will start roaming inside and outside the range of visibility, so watch out for his surprise attacks. Keep dodging and striking at the right moment to defeat him and claim the prizedClaws blueprint.
The Claws are powerful melee weapons that have combos of 3 attacks, the third of which inflicts Puncture (stacks up to 3 times). Players can then trigger a rupture, dealing 75% damage to the target and 50% damage to nearby enemies upon reaching maximum stacks. They are formidable weapons, which also have two powerful skills:
The Claws areformidable at close range, with the onlydrawbackof thatslight stun delayif the playersmiss Skewering Leap, they don’t have many weak spots. They are ideal for those looking to build a berserker vampire, with uber-healing capabilities, and lots of attack speed.
Use the claws combined withMaximum Attack Speed(Brute Blood + A. Speed Equipment + Elixir of the Werewolf) to triggerPuncturefaster and cause tons of damage. Combine Attack Speed with Leech effects from theVeil of Blood,or add even more Attack Speed withStorm Veil.Using the claws withBlood RageandPhantom Aegisis recommended for PvP, more so if players have Brute Blood, since it will help with leech and mitigation. Use Spells likeFrost Novaand orWraith Spearto apply fast CC and close in to deliver powerful attacks.
