However, March and April 2025 were considered a bit of a lull for the game, as the developers worked hard on Version 1.5, widely seen as themost ambitious update ofInfinity Nikki. Unfortunately, Version 1.5 was released to heavy backlash from theInfinity Nikkicommunity. Among the chief complaints, players cited an unfinished zone, a deceitful dye system, game-breaking bugs, disappearing currency, and the complete removal ofInfinity Nikki’s beloved intro.
This unprecedented fall from grace causedInfinity Nikki’s Steam launchto stumble into a mostly negative rating, a far cry from a game that once had strong word of mouth. For many fans, the silence from Infold was frustrating, and a “girlcott” was formed to demand crucial changes toInfinity Nikki– or rather, a return to what the game used to be.Infold finally gave players an answeron June 02, 2025, apologizing for the disastrous launch of Version 1.5 and compensating allInfinity Nikkiaccounts with up to 960 Diamonds.
Infinity Nikki Delays Version 1.6, Gives Free Diamonds as Compensation
Due to the complexity of the technical issues plaguing Version 1.5, Infold has made the decision to delay Version 1.6 until July 03, 2025. This will not only give the developers more time to address thecurrent problems inInfinity Nikkibut also prevent future ones from appearing in Version 1.6. Players will be given 360 Starlit Crystals as compensation for the delay of a new co-op feature, and will be able to collect 120 Diamonds and an Energy Crystal every day from July 12, 2025, to Jun 15, 2025.
The apology also addressed the Threads of Reunion, the iconic dress that Nikki wore in the original tutorial for the game. While Infold neither confirmed nor denied bringing back the old intro, it did imply that the current Sea of Stars prologue was rushed for Version 1.5 rather than being naturally introduced into the story. More substantial changes forInfinity Nikkirequire extended development cycles, and Infold isn’t yet ready to talk about them.
That being said, Infold has opened an in-game channel for players to provide feedback via their Pear-Pal. This apology comes on the eve of the new 4-StarBanner Outfits inInfinity Nikki, a coincidence that fans haven’t been all too happy about. All signs point that the girlcott will continue, both in the Chinese and global community, but Infold has at least taken a first step at addressing the situation.
